I'm a practicing christian, but this teacher has taken me to a whole new level of christianity and has made me want to be a better Christian all round.

Tim has a knack for taking really complex ideas and distilling them down into something that is easy to understand without destroying the beauty and essence of the whole idea

Love Bible Project! Thank the Lord for all the insight, clarity & understanding I gained in 2021 Can you imagine what it was like when Jesus taught?! No wonder the two men on the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24:32 said "...didn't our hearts burn within us...while he (Jesus) opened the Scriptures to us?" This scripture comes to mind when listening to Tim! A profound teacher! 👏🏽

i live in South Africa. I have been so blessed in hearing the teachings of Dr Mackie. I have grown so much. All the lessons have given me hope through very hard and sad times

Yep great story but somewhat strange that this is only in Luke and, like much of the 4 h otherpost Crucifixion narratives contradict each other

@@dickobrien100the other accounts don’t contradict they just have pieces of the same information. The Gospels are not magical books where the authors were possessed or in a trance like state when they wrote it. A TON of work into writing them through eye witness testimony and memory of those who were there. If you actually compare the post resurrection accounts they DONT contradict, but rather if you add up all of the information presented in each, you get a fully harmonized story of what happened.

When you talked about God appointing us as rulers of the Earth, it made me think that maybe this is one of the reasons why Jesus came to Earth fully human: it continues God's purpose to have humans rule the earth (Jesus is the king of the new world that is to come) and Jesus is the literal example of what we will be, one with God. This also makes me think that the whole story of humanity is a big, practical lesson from God that we cannot do a good job on this Earth without Him.

Wooooooow!!! Reminds me of how people think they own the "truth". Saying "my truth" and "your truth". There is only ONE truth. People even ignoring DNA to "determine" what and who he/ she is. Praises to God for when the power of knowledge is used for good and not evil!

Thank you for teaching us about the Bible in simple and funny definition of Hebrew words, your humor and western teaching helps me understand the story of the Torah, which I didn't understand I am a slow learner and only been reading the Bible for 2 years. What makes me sad is I waited until my age of 66 to start reading about God, I have always been a believer and a decent person just your average sinner. God Bless You Tim for you lectures.

I have been in a denomination all my life with my father the Pastor and I have never heard this teaching. Every sermon served to propagate that denominations particular historical bias. Most denominations are the same I have found. As such we fail to see what the Bible actually says. Thanks Tim.

As a child I saw the same real event 3 times, I live in NW England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 A budgie 🦜was flying (must of escaped from a neighbours aviary). But they were always attached and killed by sparrows! Later when I became a committed Christian it paralleled Joseph story for me and as you say persecution even martyrdom which means Witness! (You will be my witnesses) ✝️ picking up your cross 🙏🏻

The reading from the old testament the chant of related psalm and the reading of the related gospel followed by the eucharistic sacraments of the blood and body of Jesus is the catholic mass.

The book is how you get to know him. But obviously it's not necessary to be faithful to him. The OT has lots of examples of people who weren't Jewish who were faithful without the rules and laws and such. They didn't know much about him at all, but they believed and they were saved. The theological track is basically thus: just believe and trust. It's not terribly complex, but also not easy. "Destroy the ring" was simple, too, but it sure wasn't easy. You follow me?

In the New Testament, the temple was called "heaven and earth". When Jesus said, "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away", He was talking about the temple's destruction in 70 AD. OLD heaven and earth passed away. The temple was built as a microcosm to the physical heavens and earth. The Most Holy Place in the temple symbolised the heavenly dwelling place of God, the Outer Court symbolised the sea, and so on. Josephus who witnessed the temple's destruction, also called the temple "heaven and earth".

God's Truth is the whole Truth or there is no Truth, and that is the Absolute Truth, proven by every law of physics, science, and natural life. To believe in luck, chance and charms takes more faith than we have for gravity rules if we fall. To expect God to live in a box of man's theology is as ludicrous as to deny He is God. The message of the Gospel is clear, the one law we must obey; 1 John 3:23, What the obedience gives? Acts 5:32, Home Style, just like Jesus loves! Acts 18:8

The laws was only give to the Israelite God doesn’t deal with heathen. Jacob are the Israelites Psalms 147:19 He sheweth his word vnto Iacob: his statutes and his iudgements vnto Israel. Psalms 147:20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his iudgements, they haue not knowen them. Praise yee the Lord.
