I want an overdrive pedal named “Over-Saturation.” As in the tone of the pedal and OD pedal market.
The Flanger seems VERY cool. The two others don't seem to do anything that I haven't heard before. I have to hear them in person though. Nice demo you danish madman.
Always love Pete's playing. Style and taste along with technique.
I don’t think they should call the horsemeat a transparent overdrive. Def added color and EQ to the tone
@murky9554
Жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I am thinking about since yesterday...and here Lee himself confirms it by saying: "It's a big tonal characteristics difference, isn't it?" + PRS Himself descirbes it as an :amp like with almost vocal mids: - Now that simply doesn't sound like being Transparent in any way...
@endezeichengrimm

They should have called it an opaque overdrive.

There's no way a pedal with that many tone controls is anywhere near "transparent". But hey, if you're willing to pay $250 for a stupidly name Klon clone, then I guess you'll fall for anything.

There's no such thing such as "transparent overdrive". Anything that involves compression will color your sound.
Nice work lads, looking forward to the chat with PRS!
Dang, I love the fact you were using the sv20 for drivey tones... I love this amp, british made, relatively affordable and it sounds *killer* it's also great for cleanish stuff, but the drive is just amazing.

Hell yeah man. Beautiful amp. Clean, breakup, gain, even gets metal done with any metal style pedal you'd want. Truly a Plexi at heart.
Love when Paul comes on, can’t wait!!
Excellent. We got pedals that convey the sound of PRS guitars as accurately as possible. It is surprising that the company allowed its instruments to sound completely different from what was planned. Manufacturing technology, wood and varnish, components, strings and pickups. Even the amplifiers have been thought out in this long chain of creating an authentic PRS sound. But any pedal or processor took us away from what Mr. Paul Red Smith heard in his dreams. We are waiting for a delay and a reverb. Bravo..
Great demo, guys!
♫ What the world needs now ♫ ...are more pedals. 😁🤘🏼🎸😀
I like the Horsemeat through a Marshall...it really drives it. The flanger has a lovely old school swell to it ...just like a finger on the reel flange.
Disappointed that they don't have flame maple tops... Here's hoping for a custom shop ten top version 😂
@pihermoso11

I'm kind of glad 🤣 I have zero interest in these because they look boring as... Saved me a fortune 🙈
I just realized that the knobs on those pedals are the knobs on the new Waring signature PRS guitars. He said in an inteview that he found the knobs or something and that it fits with the overall aesthetics of his guitar. So that is where he found it.
That compressor reminds me of the compressor that was built into the Lab Series amps from the late 70s.
Thank you guys !
You guys really show this stuff off very well.
That flanger sounds great. I've got a Morbius right now and the problem with it is I always need other pedals to do those types of effects together, so it's pretty much just a flanger for me right now. I'm going to give the prs a go whenever I can find one in a store.
That Marshall tone is just perfect. On point. Great work as always, guys. Now i want to have em Horsemeat on my pedalboard.
@stoneysdead689

LOL- You do realize they had connected to a Marshal amp- right? That Marshal tone wasn't coming from the pedal- it was coming from the Marshal amp it was connected to. I thought it sounded better through the Victory amp- but I didn't think it sounded 279 pounds worth of good on either amp.
@andremouracosta
Жыл бұрын
@@stoneysdead689 LOL- bro, i said that the amp tone is perfect. The amp tone. Not that the amp tone is perfect because the pedal is connected into it.
7:47 "just taking the reverb down for you there." Woah, a first in Anderton's history! I don't think Lee has ever said that before lol
Horse meat sounds AMAZING!! Love the way it fuzzes out when paired with the Marshall
6:25 How dare you test with pedal with anything else!?! Wow that was incredible best demo I’ve seen so far
Nobles ODR1 into a TC Zeus is also pretty damn good in my humble opinion, without breaking the bank.
Horsemeat because it kills the clon is my guess. Even though I'm not convinced it does
Nice product placement for Fender with the "Engine Room" pedal in the middle of the shot....😉

Wanted to like the Horsemeat, to my ear it sounded different, warmer perhaps on the PRS website with Paul doing the demo, thank you guys for doing a more realistic & thorough demo.
Paul himself is coming to the show? Awesome!
The face you make when you don't like a pedal. Pete at 4:35 😂
The Mary Cries really does seem like the always on pedal!
Waiting to see if - finally - you lads get to grips with how a flanger works.
with regards to reading the manual. the rule is: the amount of physical construction involved correlates proportionally to how little reading of the manual takes place.
Love the video! Especially the Mary Cries compressor. Forgive me if this question has already been answered, but is that Purple Silver sky purchasable or is it specially made for Pete?
Haha! I've been a vegetarian since 1995 and I already bought a Horsemeat after watching Paul's demo on KZread. I already have an Orange Squeeze for comp and I absolutely love it! And I'm not too much into flangers, even super cool ones like Paul's! But I was already looking for a good Klon when I saw Paul's video. I can't wait for it to get here!

Orange Squeeze and Horse Meat makes you an omnivore.
Guys… I don’t even currently have an electric guitar at the moment, but I LOVE watching Lee and Pete fiddle around with just about any of these gadgets. Why am I laughing during gear videos? 😂😂 The chemistry is so good, it’s so fun to hang out. The best evolution of old shopping TV channels into fun gear comparisons and I HAVE already bought an amp and a looper for my travel A/E rig purely on the great comparisons here, and I have a list of toys for when I do get set up with electric again. Great stuff.
Love the irony of a voice control on the transparent overdrive. Transparent Overdrive has become such a trigger term for eye-rolling. Beyond that, the Klon that it references isn't transparent.. Weird branding. (It was labeled as transparent by some, but it pumps your mids and cuts a bit of your bass as you bring up the gain.) Their new little headstock tuner is the bee's knees though. Just know if you play a lot of acoustic the clip isn't big enough for some guitars.
That compressor sounds awesome
Wait how can you have a "voice" knob on a pedal that claims its a transparent overdrive which doesn’t cover up your tone?? Oh Paul

From what I heard, that Horsemeat could just have had a gain and volume knob!
Ok. Now there needs to be a comparison of the Keeley Compressor plus and Mary Cries. Need to hear the flanger in the loop too.
Love PRS and like the sound of the Horsemeat but can't help but think you could find 3 or 4 Tone City pedals and achieve the same sounds these days.
Mary Cries sounds really good!
Pete´s wearing his John Mayer G-shock for this! 😁
nice! wouldn't mind to own all 3 at some point
I'm glad Paul made it VERY clear in the presentation that the drive pedal is NOT a Klon clone xD
I've played on a low to mid range set up all my life. I always wonder how discernable the tonal differences are to non-musicians/guitarist. I personally can't always tell the subtlety. What I aways notice is Pete's awesome musically!
@TybudX
Жыл бұрын
It really comes down to how any piece of gear effects the way you play, which the audience might not understand, but they will appreciate the results! If something is well built, with a clean circuit and good components, it will sound and respond different. Like the klon pedals have a really low noise floor and they respond to your playing very quickly, which isn't something you hear people talk about when they describe it. I tried a bunch of different clones that used the same components. They all sounded great, but only a few brands captured the way an actual klon felt. Or tubescreamers, everybody says one series sounds like this, one series sounds like that, yada yada yada. I went to a tubescreamer party about ten years ago and we all lined up our pedals. A couple originals, four TS9s, and a bunch of clones. We put them on a switcher one of the guys had made for his rig. Couldn't tell the difference between most of them.
I really like prs amps, I think they are doing special things in the traditional pickup game. Paul himself seems like a great guy. They make beautiful guitars, with necks I absolutely hate. Nice sounding pedals yeeesh the prices though...
That’s the best sounding opto comp pedal i have ever heard. 👀
Great video guys first of all the horsemeat thing I heard Paul Reed talking to Vic and Dan they asked him why the horsemeat name voice is very similar to the story when I asked the designers of the Chevrolet Camaro what is a Camaro they basically said something like it's a Ferocious Beast that eats Mustangs for breakfast the horsemeat is not a clone at all. I have the Merry Christ pedal and I love it especially at the end of all of my gain stages for Boost and sometimes just for that nice slightly brighter clean sound but the problem I have is when I click it it makes a loud boom if I'm using it as a boost so I'm wondering if I need to replace the stop switch with an easier one like you would find on EarthQuaker pedals or walrus audio pedals
Finally some pedals for the brand snobs and PRS investors and Paul's favourite little youtubers to help push sales on.
I suddenly wonder, seeing all those pedals in the background; who does the dusting?
The Compressor is beautiful, and musical, a pedal to be always on.. like most if not all optical compressors. The other two, not my cup of tea
« …and we should be asking ourselves, who is Mary, and why she cries.. » That was brilliant, made me really laugh out loud! Genius!
Imagine the dual flange would have a tone nob on each side. Both lfos for an other frequency... I will try it in my DAW
The Captain and Pete do the best demo's ,by far, entertaining instructional.
Horsemeat needs a PRS and Marshall combo epic trip 🤘🤘
Horsemeat sounds great with a set of SD Seth Lovers through a Mesa 25 Rectifier and a 2x12 cab of your choice.
I found this really interesting but hasn't talked me out of buying a UA Dream pedal next.

We don’t need new pedals… but if you’re going to do it… giving us hilarious names and pretty looking designs is the way to go.
I had a Klon KTR for a while. Awesome pedal… just like all of the pedals sharing its general circuit. But what made it so great was its simplicity. I just don’t get see the appeal of adding “features” to a Klon because it immediately stops doing the things that a Klon does so well.
Horsemeat is a reference to Al Hendrix feeding Jimi and Leon horsemeat hamburgers during tough times when they were children. In the states horsemeat was generally not for human consumption. Used a lot in pet foods and such.
Sorry to say, but even with Pete on the strings I don’t find the Horsemeat very impressive. Certainly not with that price-tag on it.

Can't help but feel we're all being punk'd with these pedal names. Like Ashton Kutcher is going to pop up in one of these videos any second with Paul and let us in on the joke. Seriously, I think the purpose was to get people talking about the products, and it worked.
