The First Bosch Battery Powered Hammer Drill, 1984
I am very lucky to own this tool. It is a 36-year-old cordless power tool. I was amazed with all the mechanics inside, the device was perfectly designed. When I googled "the world's first battery-powered hammer", the Bosch GBN 24 VRE Professional was the answer.
I made this video because I was curious to see the mechanics inside this tool and share it with you.

Blue color is high-end Bosch tools, those have very long lifetime. Green-colored Bosch is disposable, but blue-colored Bosch can be refurbished and sold in expensive price.

I can imagine Thanos doing this saying “I use the tools to destroy the tools”
Where do you get all those tools to restore, scrapyard or something? Great work!
If to charge the li-ion batteries with the bms pcb you only need to connect them to + and - terminals, why do you need to upgrade the charger? Just wondering because I have some batteries I want to upgrade but I still need to be able to charge the old ones that I don't upgrade right away. Great restoration!
nice.....
Good video - thanks. I have the same drill but the battery is waning. Is there a battery replacement company you can recommend?

I have same tool Can it be run directly from the current?

What about the maximum current allowed by the BMS? How many amps is it?
@gear_show
This BMS is 6S60A. It can drain current up to 60A depend on battery cells.
@Dmitrytln
@@gear_show Motor has transient current, so 60 Amps it can handle only few seconds, long continuous current should be approximately 12 Amps.
Can I buy it again?

The drill Seems pretty weak compared to the newer one's. Seems tragic to cut out the 36 year old German electronics to replace it with an off the shelf general purpose charger that looks like it won't last.
