The Fight to Reclaim the Southwest | States of Unrest

VICE heads to the Southwest to see how one indigenous tribe’s fight to protect their land and ancestral history is playing out at the San Diego border. Then we hit the streets of Phoenix with a group of progressive military veterans on a mission to change the hearts and minds of voters in the growing battleground state of Arizona.
The 2020 Presidential election is coinciding with one of the most polarizing times in modern American history - VICE travels across the country to learn about the extraordinary actions of ordinary people that could shape our collective future. That's how the elites want it. That is one of the major reasons, and purposes of all the various events that are unfolding currently. The global elites have always utilized the ISMs (racism, sexism, genderism, lookism, ageism, nationalism, tribalism, classism, spiritualism, etc.) not only to maintain, but to widen, the divisions that already exist, and to create further divisions. It's the old tactic of divide and conquer. We are easier to conquer divided, but that has not happened yet. For now, being divided, we are easier to control, and manipulate. This is important for many reasons, but one of the major ones is that enough of us do not ever discover who are real enemies are, because if enough of us ever do, and we unite, it wouldn't take that many of us to rid the world of the true enemies of humanity . . . but instead, they convince us that it is some group of people over there who are responsible for our hardships and suffering, and most of us unfortunately buy into that false reality of perceiving our very own brothers and sisters as our enemies, when we should be united with them. The global elite are the ones who are behind nearly all of the woes, hardships, and suffering in this world. If we eliminated them from this planet, and prevent others from taking their place, we have more than sufficient potential to create paradise on this planet. Instead, most of us fall victim to the manipulation masters and live in false realities, and subscribe to their narrative. The degree of manipulation is truly disgusting to the point of being sickening!

Your missing the point, Trump circumvented the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation act and the Environment Protection Act because it goes through sacred sites and ancient burial ground and the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge by using the REAL ID Act. 62 miles of the border belong to the Tohono O'odham nation. Alas, that's easier to say than to do. Do you have ideas for how to right the wrongs of history? It makes some sense ethically, but in practical terms pretty much anything that's feasible will be treated as insultingly small and token, or as only the first down payment on an unending debt that has now been acknowledged - pay up the rest. For example, some say that in regard to slavery (another related issue), at least the US Government should apologize - but actually that already happened and nobody noticed. Getting back to native people, should the US Government revoke all deeds and give the land back? Or pay some trillions of bucks to the surviving native Americans? Would that ease the divide, or inflame it? I try not to be cynical, but the problems are very complex and many of the suggestions seem either inadequate or infeasible. I don't think that an invading culture has ever righted the wrong of that invasion, anywhere around the world, among the 100 billion or so homo sapiens who have ever lived. It's just not something our species is good at doing; I don't think it can be accomplished by turning up the a guilt trip to 11. Instead humans become resistant to the guild trip, and resentful towards those using that tool. I'm not saying that's a good thing, by the way, just trying to be realistic about the species in question. If you have some good suggestions about HOW to heal the wounds of the European displacement of original populations, I am open to hearing them.

I've worked with Kumeyaay archeological team on projects where we are digging. They have designated large areas of land in and around San Diego that require their presence. This is not a free service. They cost $110 an hour, per person, and are at the site at all times during the digging process. I think they stated there were four hired observers for the wall construction and they want more to be hired because they can't monitor it all. The construction company building the wall would have the resources to hire more of them and maybe that's what they should do.
