    And them players: Forsberg, Sakic, Deadmarsh, Yzerman, Shanahan, McCarthy, Lidström, Roy, Vernon, Foote, Fedorov etc. Those were the days. Hockey nowadays is shite.

    I'm just glad you recognized the Rangers-Bruins rivalry. New York vs. Boston is always a big deal and very scrappy no matter the sport. Despite being a original 6 rivalry, people seem to not mention it despite the fact the two teams play around Thanksgiving every year, and have always played each other very tough. Brad Marchand vs. Artemi Panarin was the latest milestone. And ever since the Whalers left, the New York-Boston rivalry can also be considered the Battle for Connecticut, fighting for the fans left in the ashes of the Whalers' departure.

    We still chant 1940 at Islander’s games it doesn’t matter that the Rangers have won in 1994 because it still pisses them off now. We love chanting it even if we aren’t playing them.

    I'm 20 minutes in, yet not a word about the wildest rivalry witnessed on Québec history: Montréal vs Nordiques...Before, we Québécoisfrancos had 1 club: Canadiens. From 1979 until 1995, Québécois society was divided! It was on so many levels...

  • @humankirk9196

    @humankirk9196

    Habs Nordiques was so visceral because it wasn't just on the ice (that was wild too) but between fans, workplaces, schools, even families. It even took a clearly political dimension, with the Oui side being for the rebel Nordiques and the Non side being for the establishment Canadiens. Oh, and Quebec folk hero Rocket Richard was the inaugural coach of the Nordiques. For decades afterwards, both Hab coach Jean Perron and Nords coach Michel Bergeron became sparring partners in post-game shows. The long-running TV series Lance et Compte was directly inspired by that rivalry. Another weird one? The Nords inaugural season coincides with the first Quebec referendum; the Nords last seaspn coincides with the second Quebec referendum. I don't think anyone who hasn't experienced it can even imagine.

Anyhow i am a huge hockey fan bigger Red Wings fan but i love any and all hockey and i grew up watching the greats of every team and it was amazing watching the team Canadas back then, i got to watch the games in Hamilton Ontario at Copps Colesium with Gretzky and Lemieux connecting for the game winner over the USSR and the place where Fedorov fled the team USSR and immigrated to the U.S and Red Wings. 👊🏼 Stay Blessed and keep these coming

The Brouwer goal vs the Blackhawks you should is a top moment in Blues history. It is up there with the Pat Maroon double OT game 7 goal and win vs Boston in finals. Very interesting video! Lots of teams do the Beat LA chant in many different sports.

    GREAT VIDEO!! Buffalo and Quebec were some battles for Shure!!! Also, Buffalo and Hartford were quite the slam jam. One time Sabres and Whalers went at it SOOOO rough during the game that it later escalated after the game in a local Buffalo bar. The resulting scrum found the Whalers having to have to come back to Buffalo to stand in a court room in front of a judge. They were NOT happy. Aww....too bad. Thanks for this great video!

Currently I'd have to say Buffalo and Toronto are a matchup of very worthy quality. Although many Leafs fans show up in Buffalo and vice versa, it's usually "clean"... hard battle but lacking fisticuffs. Oh well, thanks to folks like you, we can enjoy some "old time hockey ". Keep rockin'.

    Not a fan of the Blue Jackets, but clinging that first playoff series win was something special. Additonally, I know this video was made before the Panthers v Sens game on the 27th of November, but that line brawl and the fact that the Tkachuk brothers have made impacts on their respective teams, a sens/panthers rivalry could blossom soon.

    Favorite rivalry moments is easily seven in game seven against Patrick. Not even close. It was so beyond expectation. The 2002 finals were pretty much a formality even though it was a greater series than credited because it was only five games. 2002 against Colorado is where the Stanley Cup was won. And seven against Patrick… Well against Colorado in game seven is the singular rivalry smashing moment for me.

    As a wings fan i think its important to point out how and why the Avs Wings rivalry took off as quickly as it did and for those who do not know it goes back to Patrick Roy's last game as a Canadian when Detroit and the Russian 5 lit him up 😂 he was traded to Colorado Avs which just prior were the Quebec Nordiques Montreals main rival in Hockey at the time because they fought for fans dollars and their games were always rough and fun to watch. Patrick Roys last play off game against the wings he got lit up 7 nothing in game 7 and that was the end of that rivalry 😂 Patrick Roy was an elite goalie but every player or team has that one team they excel against or fail against. For example Stevie Y scored more goals against the leafs than any other team yet the leafs always broke the wings hearts when they met in the playoffs in the 90s

    Oilers vs Stars isn't a rivalry anymore but in the late 90's/early 00's they met in the playoffs FIVE years in a row ('97, '98, '99, '00, '01) with Dallas taking the win every single god damned time as the higher seed with all but one year being first round meetings (98, Edmonton wins against Colorado in the first round but loses to Dallas in the second)... I was five years old by '97, born and raised in Edmonton with a father fanatical about the Oilers since witnessing Gretzky's dynasty in the 80's. So from the moment I acquired consciousness to even understand hockey, the Stars were the boogie man xD
