The FBB - Six Days On The Road - Gram Parsons studio version - pedal steel parts - part 1

This video is the first of a series of four videos where I demonstrate the pedal steel parts played by Sneaky Pete Kleinow during the verses on the studio version of Six Days On The Road as recorded by The Flying Burrito Brothers, apparently for an abortive third album consisting of country covers.
This was before Gram Parsons was fired from the band.
In my last video, I demonstrated the pedal steel solo against a backing track that has been severely slowed down.
The same backing track has been used for this video.
The intro on the pedal steel is demonstrated first and then it goes straight into verse 1.
Figuring out the licks was the difficult part but when you had them down and tested them repeatedly for playability, they aren't that difficult to play at all.
It must be noted that Sneaky Pete played a Fender 400 pedal steel at the time, which used a B6 tuning
In learning to play the pedal steel parts,I had to translate it so that it could be played on a 10 string E9 tuning.
The next video will be the pedal steel parts for verse 2.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Great care and effort has been expended on trying to ensure that the steel part is accurate. However there is always a risk that what I am demonstrating could be wrong in terms of note, in terms of position of the steel bar, in terms of which strings are plucked. I could have been suffering from slight deafness on the day of recording or I was feeling off because the wife was nagging me again. This video represents the best that I could do after researching the original recording and any available footage. Unless I was standing right next to the player and videotaping the performance, there’s no way I can accurately say for certain that what I play is perfectly accurate to what the original player did. Do not assume my demonstration as the final word, cast in stone-like. I could be wrong. Nobody is perfect, least of all me. Viewers should exercise caution when watching the video and they would be well advised to check for themselves against the original recording and any associated footage. I may be playing it wrong but you may be playing it right. Isn’t this fun, learning things together?
