----------
I picked up this pair of fully solid wood dressers from an auction for just $1 each (there were no other bidders, meaning I got to take them home at the starting price). When I brought them home, I noticed that one of them must have originally been a cabinet with 2 doors, not a dresser. This was clear because doors were obviously cut into 4 sections and made into drawers; even the rail construction was different from the other dresser. A previous owner must have DIY'd it. As much as I appreciated the creativity, it wasn't something I could leave as-is, and rather than undoing the work, I had the idea of just salvaging the solid wood from the whole piece and using parts of it to add onto the other piece in the form of drop-leaves.
If you enjoy the video, please like and subscribe, it makes me happy! :)

I doubt you’re the only viewer envious of Andy’s setup. He took a classic storage technique (attaching old jars underneath a shelf), then made it even MORE efficient by affixing the jars to a beam that freaking ROTATES! Genius!

I can't get over the satisfying editing (AND makeover)! The smooth cuts and wipes for the sanding, you even put in time for stop motion!! The amount of effort you put into these makes me excited for every new video. The quiet documentary style is perfect for what you do, and it creates a seriously investing and relaxing atmosphere. I love seeing and hearing all the tool-work up close! Your videos make me appreciate furniture and the structures behind them so much more. Your channel is state of the art ❤I'm so glad you could share your hobby with us.

The simple rule of thumb(pun intended) is to always have the blade or drill bit going away from your body no matter what. exacto knife, drill. Use a vice, use vice grips, use quick grips to hold your work. It just takes once to make a bad mistake. Ask anyone with 8 fingers.

I've always been a fan of channels like this, meaning people that take something old or broken (or both) and try to restore. Something I love about you is that you save more of the material from your projects if it is in decent shape. It's smart from a financial standpoint. Also, you use it to help with your work.

New subscriber after seeing this video. What a brilliant result from very basic beginnings. Those wheels are the icing on the cake...they don't make them like that any more and the engineering and details that the steel workers produced in the past for even the basics items they made always amazes me. Being born in 'steel city'.. Sheffield in the UK I admit I have a soft spot for this particular kind of craftsmanship. Thank you. I'm looking forward to catching up on your other videos. Kate x

This piece looks fantastic i love the addition of the two table leaves double duty chest of drawers. For a moment i thought you were going to make a secretary desk out of the two chest of drawers one on top of the other it the drawers removed on the above set and replaces with glass doors, i think that would also have suited this set of drawers. Nice work!

I WANT THAT!!!!!!!!!!! you must be one of the cleverest young men out there! you have such excellent vision and the talent to make it happen. That is a lovely, lovely piece and I am major coveting it :) It is a perfect piece, it would make a perfect buffet/server as well as workspace that can be moved around as needed in the kitchen/dining area. That really came out fantastic. One of the things that makes me love your work even more (than the obvious fantasticness of the pieces) is that you repurpose, save, and make use of every single piece of wood, nails, screws etcetera. That is not only a special talent, but it is so environmentally sound and caring. And I totally love the way you edit your videos as well, they in of themselves are entertaining. One of the classiest restorations in a while. Excellent video, love the no music approach, the pace of change, attention to detail and skill. But most importantly your choice of treatment to the wood at the end. Blonde timber looks so nice but unfortunately too often the stain or treatment adopted ruins the whole piece. You’re very gifted and this was an outstanding presentation from the start.

I love the attention to detail, the filming and the final results. When there is so much “fast fashion” out there and furniture that is treated as disposable, it is so wonderful to see someone like you who takes old furniture and gives it a new life….a long life!
