Wouldn't it be better to run it in second highest corruption monolith? This way you can use catch-up mechanics to raise corruption again when needed

Kind of interesting that for a cycle starter, you can choose a speed farmer and rush orobyss + resets for your favor, or pick something that can push corruption with minimal gear and farm monsters for exp + favor instead. Got a choice between playstyles that can both help you get those early ranks. Curious which one is technically faster if someone in COF wanted to speedrun rank 10 for the prophecy duping at cycle reset

This is an interesting concept :). You may already have thought of this, but one thing you can do to further augment this is save all your COF favor till rank 9. You get 2 rep per favor you spend. Save the favor till you need exp to hit rank 10 that is equivalent to 2x your banked favor or less. From there you can spend all of it on prophecies which will power level you the rest of the way to 10 and then you have the best value on the favor you spent levelling since their rewards are now doubled

Do tomes only give favor in empowered or corrupted monos? I tried it repeatedly and i dont seem to get a single point of favour from picking them up ...

Definitely empowered, but I've never even considered checking Unempowered.

Exp gained from monster kills scales with high corruption exp multiplier, but tomes do not scale with corruption. If you can do high corruption comfortably, running monoliths normally while targeting tomes will be more efficient.

I thought it was a 1 to 1. Kill 10 monsters = 10 favor. So speed through the monolith with good density and tada. At least at first glance testing favor gains. I didn't get deep into it just was observering.

So we got the how but I fail to see the why is this the fastest

because the exp tomes give a shit ton of favor, and the exp tome nodes spawn more commonly at the beginning parts of the monolith

at 700 corruption each node gives u 3-7k favor ..

I am assuming this was nerfed super hard. I am level 81 in singleplayer and wrote down my numbers for tracking during an "Empowered Monolith". 1. COF Xp before Monolith 123,700. 2. COF XP after completing Monolith 122,898 = 802 XP gained. (Objective rushed) 3. After picking up XP Tomes 122,708 = 190 xp gained. In other words i just have to run XP monoliths one hundered and twenty plus more times to get my next COF level.

Part of this is that you're level 81. The xp the tomes give you are tied to your character level, with higher levels giving more xp. This caps out at level 95, and those tomes are worth substantially more than the level 81 ones are.

@@princeplatypus7872 Good to know. I primarily posted because my expectations were higher and i wanted to give hard numbers for comparison. Looking back i think 122 runs for a COF level is honestly kind of generous given the type of game. At least in comparison to Diablo 2 where people would run something 1000+ times for drops.
