The Fastest the Track Yaris has EVER GONE! - TRD Series 2022 Finale

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

the last event of the 2022 TRD series is being held at Streets of Willow. even though the Yaris has had it's ups and downs this season, i've still got a chance to take one last podium place. Can the Yaris snag a podium, or has it reached it's limit?

    Would love to see you stick with the Yaris, it’s been an awesome journey so far, but I’m personally unfamiliar with the class rules and I’m not sure how much more you can build it and stay within them

    joey! i will say that the yaris is far more exciting than an frs build, the yaris is a blast watching you push it to its limits, would love to see continuing with some go fast bits, like a 6 speed and a limited slip diff!

    Sometimes you're just not feeling something anymore and that's ok. I just want you to know that this has been a great series for me and my son as the Yaris ended up being his first car this year and we get to geek out on it together while watching your content and learning from your journey. Thank you very much.

    "The Algorithm" probably suggested this channel to me because I'm always looking for 1NZ-FE content (2005 Scion xB owner) However, I'd watch any car series that you do. You make excellent content. Keep it up 👍

    I agree with the others, would love to see you stick with the Yaris. I competed with my FRS and have since gotten rid of it and now daily an Echo hatchback. I come here for the Yaris track content and try my best not to prep my Echo for track. This channel is fun to watch to see what someone will do with the platform.

    VW 84 GTI has a similar rear trailing arm as the Yaris but the rear end never wants to let loose off throttle. But the A1 and A2 GTI always lifts its inside rear wheel in turns while the Yaris stays flat in turns.

  • @RassoolRacing

    @RassoolRacing

    It's also partially because removing the rear seats from the Yaris without adding a cage means that it's more front-heavy than usual

    I think if u want to make the Yaris quicker u need the LSD and 6 speed. But I think u should do a cheap turbo at like 6 pounds of boost should be enough for the straights.

    Please keep the Yaris. Doing cool things in cool cars is cool... But doing cool things in a lame, otherwise mundane car is even cooler. It'd be awesome to see it on the podium next to a bunch of flash fancy RWDs with similar times. There's something inherently interesting and exciting about winning without using the best of the best

    I love seeing the Yaris getting some track time, podium or not… if you want to stick with the 1NZ engine there’s a few things you can still do to squeeze some power out of it, like swapping the pistons from Prius C engine, it’ll bump up your compression ratio, grabbing the Scion xD mid pipe, and installing a JUN camshaft. But swapping a 2ZR from a Scion xD might be easier, but you would be moving the the street class right?

  • @RassoolRacing

    @RassoolRacing

    Жыл бұрын

    All those things are tempting. I haven't ever cracked an engine open and done internals, so that's a bit scary, plus tuning is a big question mark as well. 2zr swap seems like a possibility, but you're right, that's going to put me up a class.

    @@RassoolRacing JUN claims that their camshafts are drop ins, will work with stock tune, but you have a tuned ECU so 🤙🏼. Cracking the engine is scary, maybe you can get a spare engine an try doing the piston swap in it?

    @@arctictruck10 then you don’t know tiny if you haven’t seen the Yaris’ mid pipe. LOL! I don’t know, but 3 inch might be too much for this engine. I’d say no more than 2.5, and get rid of the 2nd CAT.

    never been on a track. but shifting from 6000rpm in 1st to 2nd gear in my yaris puts me out of the powerband and it takes a few seconds to get back into it. we have the same tranny so i wonder if a shorter final drive would benefit you on the track.

Keep your other car as the mint one and continue to build the Yari! You could also put 1zz-fe or a 2zz-ge in. Inspiration kzread.info/dash/bejne/fIB3262vmM3Lk5c.html

    If I add a certain level of safety mods, yes. But $2k of safety mods just for the privilege of spending $1k on an LSD is a tough pill to swallow. not to mention, if I'm pulling the trans, I'm also doing a lightweight flywheel, xB final drive, and making 3rd stop crunching. It'll be a big expensive project and the Yaris would be down for a while.
