THE FASTEST MASERATI EVER MADE? Maserati Granturismo FOLGORE
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I felt really honoured to be personally invited by @maserati to their Folgore Day and to test drive the beautiful Gran Turismo Folgore. Italy is one of my favourite places in the world to drive, and this car just tops off the experience. Grazie Maserati ❤️

I think it works as an EV, I think most EV's are boring, but leaning on the luxury and style works
I think you could have given more information on the range and other tech info !!!

Beautiful review, Becky. Enjoy Italian
I've owned three Maserati's. AN 18 year love/hate relationship. Absolutely beautiful machines, but chronic money pits.
Got o feeling you can speak fluent Italian sweetheart Your pronunciation is very precise!
Bravo 👏I'm not being an idiot but you've finally given us a video with awesome audio. I watched all the way through and was gutted it was only a short video. Well done B
Perfect video for eating my food 👌
Well done Becky for highlighting the special feeling that Maserati gives even without the mechanical sound…yes we want that sound but not a computer generated version so just enjoy the sounds it makes…EV’s have been decided as the way forward so we must get used to different experience. Next job…try the Grecale version…it is just sad that buying one in the UK takes bravery and optimism with the depreciation aspect and patchy servicing but…does it add something that other cars do not have..charisma! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Why is the suspension so high?!?!
@jpl8878

It's adjustable air suspension. It rides high for comfort and then drops lower in sport and corsa
0:34 Didn't option the self-levelling wheel centre-caps ... I thought there was an option for a simulated engine noise. No? I'm glad it can be turned off if there is one.
Missed out one of the most important stats, what is the range of the battery before it needs charging and how long does it take to charge before you can drive it again 🙄🙄

Nice car although I’d get different wheels for it
Great video nice car. Fast and quiet too.
Leave it up to the Italians to make electric cars sexy. "It turns you on" hahaha what a great slogan. Always had a thing for Maserati's.
BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, still not fully sold on EV's

I'll wait 4 years where I can buy a used one for around 40k.
A great review, but I feel the lack of V8 sound in the heart of a Maserati, is going to be its downfall; plus the residual values will fall further on any EV, perhaps it would be best to get into once that initial price drops when purchased as a used car.
@jpl8878

Someone has to buy it new. For the moment it doesn't have a single competitor in the sporty 2+2 GT electric space which should work in Maserati's favor. The only other 2+2 electric coupe is the Rolls Royce Spectre which is a very different car and twice the starting price.
@animal355
Ай бұрын
@@jpl8878 oh that Rolls Royce is a waste of money, I mean who will spend over 400k to sit it whilst it’s charging up next to a Nissan Leaf or a Renault Zoe. It’s a status car, I can’t see many owners of those dropping their wealthy standards of not cavorting with the commoners. And yes there aren’t many competitors for the Maserati, and those wealthy that can afford to loose cash will rush to buy one first so they get the bragging rights in Monaco. But like the Rolls they will depreciate quickly. It’s the unfortunate curse of the modern EV. Technology moves so fast it looses its value very quickly.
@jpl8878
Ай бұрын
@@animal355 the Spectre has a 2 year waiting list, so customers evidently don't consider it a waste of money. They also won't be testing the limits of its range. RR owners have other vehicles if they need to go further than that.
@animal355

@@jpl8878 all Rolls Royce’s drop cash, its what they do, the Spectre won’t be a exception to that rule. The 2 year waiting list is irrelevant to its eventual resale value. It’s purely yet another toy for the extremely wealthy that wish to part take in the game of being seen in the latest expensive ‘thing’. But that’s just my opinion.

🤮 aside from my distain for electric vehicles in general, the entire world moving head first into electric cars without any real environmental impact study or proper research into sustainability is frankly scary! We are switching from one fossil fuel to another (in all the minerals etc required to build batteries) without having any idea if there is any where near enough of this stuff to actually keep us going. Not to mention the enormous damage done to the environment by the mining required to get a hold of them.
@UKMechanic
Ай бұрын
Yeh, because shale fracking and oil extraction in general does nothing bad to the environment. Plus those minerals would still be mined regardless of whether electric vehicles existed or not. Of course there have been many studies done but because they don't agree with many peoples pre-held beliefs they are ignored.

@UKMechanic lithium mines destroy the whole place though mate. And if every single car is electric not to mention all the house batteries, and on and on... we'll pretty much have to dig up the whole world mate. Not even close to enough lithium to go round mate.

@@ScottyBSim You've never seen an Eastern European oil field then? Not even close to enough oil to go around for the developing third world countries either. There's no magic bullet for any of it. Hydrogen, batteries, oil, synthetic fuels etc etc all have roles to play in future transport. Why people think it all has to be one solution and/or totally dismiss one avenue is beyond me.
It's kinda funny.....there is not alot to talk about when driving a electric car.....beautiful? Yes.....comfortable? Yes..... quality materials? Yes Driving experience.......Boring !!!!!! Yes......Welcome to the future. YUCK !!! I would take your 930 over this in a heart beat !!!!

With the amount of traffic on the road these days for many people getting from A to B in comfort is the priority. It's hard to get any sort of driving experience when you can't get over 40 miles an hour. EV all the way for me. When I want excitement I take my race car to the track.

So right. Power and torque delivery? Instant. Soul and character? Move on, nothing to see here. Part of the reason I fall for a car, is character and soul, a lot of which comes from the power and torque delivery and sound. If I wanted instant torque especially, I’d get a light switch rather than throttle.
Ps….NO, electric is NOT, sexy.
oh dear. we must be getting close to the end of motoring. pretty car but with no noise , it's as interesting as a rice cake. please Becky don't go down this road of dull dead motoring. love your channel but please, continue with the other stuff.
How utterly depressing! The Italian soul has been ripped out by going EV, Maserati going woke then going broke. Italian people love super cars for the sound of the V8 or V12 not a fast silent milk float. The end of motoring nirvana is nigh. 😢

Becky how can you drive an environmental offender and I am 1000% sure you have the wrong idea about electric cars. Because everyone thinks that these electric vehicles are good for the environment but that is a big lie. Because no one thinks to access the materials needed to build these batteries, you actually have to cut down 100's of thousands of trees and dig in the ground and these huge holes will never heal and it kills wildlife, pollutes lakes and forces humans move. THINK now Becky and I take a village called Vittangi which is one car outside my town Kiruna in northern Sweden. Here, a graphite mine will be created to mine 120,000 tons of graphite per year, the area to be dug will initially be as large as 348 soccer fields. The EU has previously hammered through that the EU should become self-sufficient in countries that lack graphite, and Sweden cannot stop this. I think that before you think it is so positive about these electric cars, go to the countries that mine these substances. Also go to Nunasvaara, outside Vittangi in northern Sweden and see how this beautiful nature now that is there with all the lakes and animals that are there and think how this will be destroyed. It would have been better for the environment and the earth if they instead allowed environmentally friendly synthetic fuel that does not destroy nature. If you keep talking about electric cars, you need to read up and find out if electric cars are as environmentally friendly as they claim. Fuck all the lies about how good electric cars are. Then lest we forget, think when changing the batteries in this Masarati or other electric cars of this size or larger will cost AT LEAST £40,000.
A beautiful car with no soul. Where is that glorious V8 soundtrack? Instead you get whine of a boring electric motor. I will stick with my 4200 coupe thanks and still be driving it when the Folgore is landfill.
What a waste of time!! Part of a big part of driving a Maserati is the sound of the engine simple as that plus a Grand Tourer means just that ie covering long distances at speed.. you can’t do that in a battery box… go fast and your range goes way down put the air con on the range goes down. Yes the Sonus Faber will sound fabulous but put it on and the range goes down!!! A waste of a great Brand
Peugeot batteries in a Maserati. What could possibly go wrong.
Maserati has gone woke. Pretty sad.
