This video has a bit more technical jargon so I thought I’d make a key to make some parts of the video easier to understand. Dread = Darknet’s Version of Reddit FUD = (Fear, uncertainty, and doubt, used as a term meant to spread fear to manipulate people’s actions) LE = Law enforcement PGP key / signatures = (Pretty good privacy software) meant as a cryptographic way of identifying individuals and encrypting messages on the darknet typically. Market escrow = whenever an order on the darknet is placed, it is put into the websites cryptocurrency wallet until the buyer finalizes the order. The escrow is the holding place for the market’s operating funds. Jabber = used as darknet instant messenger Darkdotfail = is an anonymous journalist / news resource / link aggregator for darknet markets If I missed any let me know I’ll add an explanation. I know this one was a bit hard to understand technically and definitely could have done a better job explaining in layman’s terms.

I had no idea there was such an established boom and bust for these markets but it makes perfect sense. Fascinating how these little life cycles can thrive out of the public eye. Part of it is that a lot of these people don't necessarily have degrees in coding or business. They're self taught. Most companies still see an MBA a requirement for all but the lowest level positions. That attitude is changing, but slowly and not uniformly. The simple fact is that they know that they couldn't get hired. The same goes for government hacking projects. The U.S. simply isn't as good by most accounts as places like Russia, China, or North Korea. Those countries will hire coders and hackers, sometimes right out of prison and give them huge paychecks; while the U.S. tends to prefer to lock them up and throw away the key. Add to that the thrill of doing something illicit and the obscene amounts of money that they can make. Well, I can see the appeal even if I'm totally against it.

The writing was on the wall for Empire for a while. Once they took down Daily Numbers in June, the major DDOS problems from March until basically the Exit Scam, along with the disputes list growing longer and longer it was just a matter of when. DNMs ebb and flow, it just sucks for the people (especially vendors) who lost lots of BTC and XMR. Many people seem unwilling to accept they lost money and to move on, as compared to past exit scams.
hope your keeping well mr. sociable, have a nice day!
