If I spot a person with a fake bag/watch - then I (can safely) assume that other items in their possession are also counterfeit. I love the BirkinSlayer - that IG account is just the tip of the iceberg - highlighting this unethical and illegal industry. I doubt if many people know or care about the ramifications of their "dupe" purchases. Yes, the "quality" of these fakes has improved even as (sadly) the craftsmanship of some heritage luxury houses has decreased, but that's not a justification to support the counterfeit industry. If you can't afford ultra luxury yet, then spend your money on solid contemporary brands like Polene, APC, Longchamp, Tory Burch or Coach. At least then, when you wanted to sell them, they wouldn't be completely WORTHLESS fakes.

I have both authentic and fake bags, and to be quite honest, I am not opposed to people having fakes. As long as they’re open about it, of course. But I get loving a design, but being absolutely not able to ever afford it for yourself and having your heart broken because you’re not as well off as many out there, who don’t even deserve it. ESPECIALLY with the crappy quality these days and horrendous prices in the same time - this on its own to me is disrespectful to a customer, and if the brands are not respecting us, why on Earth should we respect them??

@@canansebnemylmaz9555 There are signs all over many EU airports now - esp France - that fakes will be confiscated. I LOVE IT!!!! Their customs officers are probably better at authenticating than some of these cash-grab online services.

Mel I wholeheartedly agree with all your main points especially with these influencers. I personally do not buy any goods on preloved market I’m afraid it will not be authentic. I have acquired my small collection straight from the boutique I want the piece of mind.

Counterfeit luxury breaks my heart with the unethical practices. I also don’t understand because to me saving and buying in store or from the supplier or vintage - is part of the experience. I don’t see how DH gate has any appeal honestly.
