On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, F-4 Phantom, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Thank you for all the F-4 Phantom action. I was at an air show at Forbes Field outside of Topeka Kansas in 1986. Four Kansas Air National Guard F-4Ds took off from a runway we couldn't see, and blasted overhead at very close to Mach 1. The thunderclap was unbelievable. I caught sight of the four aircraft just a split second before they roared overhead, and they were ahead of their own sound, so when I saw them, they were silent. Then came the thunderous BOOM. I have loved the F-4 ever since. It was so hot that day that I got lightheaded and opened my camera before I rewound the film (this was long before digital cameras). I lost photos of a lot of aircraft I never got to see again.

So, I said yesterday that I'd like to see the Sparrows used more. Well, I looked into them a little more, and apparently the Sparrows, especially the early ones, had a hard time locking small targets. They were apparently meant more for hitting larger bombers when they first came out? Apparently the kill rate was only something like 10% for the earlier Sparrows in real world use as well, so I guess even if you did try to use them more, I shouldn't expect them to do much!

Do a scenario over North Vietnam using the same flight pattern, speed and call signs as the F-105 to lure in a group of Mig 21's.

1:16 I wonder if the brakes could actually hold the plane stationary with AB.

We need a night strike mission against ground targets so we can watch the sky dance with tracers and se you weave through them to the targets

Recently read Phantom In the River, an excellent true story about an F4 strike that didn't go as planned in Vietnam. Triple A was a problem as they knew when and where we were coming.

In Vietnam the USAF repeatedly flew the same routes so the NVA had little trouble setting up very effective defense corridors. This was especially true with B52 strikes. Of course the USAF and Navy were also flying with VERY heavy operational restrictions. LBJ famously said “they can’t bomb an outhouse without my say so”.

The model lacks the smoke trail. The long brown trail giving the plane away against any kind of sky.
