This scene is so powerful. Can't believe they skipped this prologue in the current Amazon WoT. They are butchering the series. It's scandalous

The voice for this clip is Michael Kramer. He along with his wife Kate Reading do the audio versions of all of the Wheel of Time books. The music is not part of the audio books, but a very nice enhancement here.

one of the most epic moments in WoT for me is when Rand strolled into the white tower to talk to his friend Egwene late in the series. I won't say more to spoil anything for readers who haven't got that far.

Such an EPIC introduction that leaves you with so many questions and a desperate desire for answers. Then as you read and reflect on this moments, those answers are oh so satisfying.

How can aaaany one FATHOM having the Red ajah hunt down some poor male channeler as the prologue, instead of THIS, emblematic of their failure to grasp the core of the WOT..

Theyl never be able to give proper credit to the extreme high quality of WoT in any retelling of the story. This is easily one of the best fantasy prologues ever made. I'm on book 9 now but I always listen to this prologue as I start a new book. Such an amazing audio reading, doubly so with the epic background music. Let the prince of the morning sing to the land!

I can't believe they cut this in the Amazon series. It's a perfect introduction to the story, setting the mood and the stakes in ways that the Two Rivers folks preparing for a festival never could.

Im recommending to non readers of the series who are watching the amazon adaptation to at least listen to this at some point after they have watched a few episodes. Maybe after 3rd episode would be a good spot.

I love this prologue it's such that a man can feel his soul wrenched with great redemptive agony with tears flooding his face.

It's amazing how little understanding of the books that the show has.

This prologue is epic beyond epic and it’s the thing that drew me into this series, I read this and was like “ Welp, now I gotta read em all “

You know, I've hated the prologue when I first read it. It was the first fantasy I ever read and I was completely lost. I skipped it on re-reads because I remembered not liking it. Decided to give this clip a listen. I have a new appreciation for it now. The context from having competed the series a few times makes it so epic.

This is epic. It would amazing if you could do Rand at Maradon, one of my favorite scenes ever.

So freaking epic

I haven't read the books and enjoy the amazon tv series (I wouldnt say its good though). This prologue has more emotion, tension and attention gripping material in it than the whole season and a half of the tv show so far 😂
