I saw an F1 car displayed disassembled like that. Every part was hanging from the ceiling in their relative position. They called it exploded. Very impressive, very beautiful.

Season 3 is so EPIC. When SyFy in their idiocy cancelled the show the fans lost their minds and started a 'Save the Expanse' campaign. It was so successful got it renewed on Amazon for 2 more seasons. So far. LOL.

Not sure if you guys watched Mythbusters, but Adam Savage made a cameo in this episode.

Yeah, but crush syndrome does NOT develop WHILE you are crushed. It develops after they release you from whatever was crushing your extremities

Also just to point out that Alex said they reduced the monster to it's atoms. Then, almost the same time, the protomolecule began tearing that ship apart to it's base components.

Never noticed that before, but you're right. The protomolecule on Eros reacted when Earth launched nuclear missiles, so it makes sense that it would react to this event, as well.

Next season will be one of the best season on TV ever.

season 3 is some of the best television i have ever seen, you are going to love it. the expanse has an amazing way of saying there is no such thing as black and white, only grey. it is true for all the characters in the show.

One of my favorite lines from Bobbie Draper is from the books and I wish it had been in the show. Chrisjen tells her assistant to get Bobbie a gun and she responds, "Ma'am, give me a gun and I'm a bodyguard. Give me my suit and I'm a god damned superhero."

I was totally thinking "Come with me if you want to live" when she reached her hand to Chrisjen. When the scene picks up next episode, the Terminator reference gets even more obvious.

The actress who plays Bobbie, Frankie Adams, was a boxer. You can really see her expertise on display in this episode.

18:42 Holden finally, truly, let go of his hurt and guilt. He still felt, not love, but "obligation" to his dead girlfriend, Ade Nygaard who died on the Canteberry in S1E1 "Dulcinea". Remember her? She died trying to tell Holden "something important" and then it was too late. 26:36 Yes, its lots of kids...😢

I love the way Bobbi is always really unsure and awkward unless the shit is going down, then she is really confident.

You guys could throw out a hundred theories about what's going to happen, and you wouldn't even be close...😁 Can't wait for you guys to see S3!!!

Season 3 expanse is the best season of any show ever. Get ready for a wild ride!

The ship over Venus wasn't just pulled apart it was essentially a Engineer's exploded view to see all the parts and how they worked and interacted with each other and not to mention the occupant's were still alive so maybe the protomolecule is learning and not just destroying.

Season 3 is just epic! It takes the story to a whole new level!

This episode had 2 amazing shots, that bit when the blue dude died in the ships afterburner was beyond epic, totally a Gollum moment when falling in the volcano while embracing his precious ring. And that bit with the ship totally disassembled, not in a chaotic "I wanna destroy this" kind of thing, but in a extremely organized way, almost like a curious conscience disassembling something apart to see how it works in a curious way? Fascinating, loved that. And regarding Fred having the proto molecule aswell now? Now all 3 sides have the molecule, it's like nuclear weapons with us, all "big" countries wanna have them but no one will use them. It's kinda like, "I have that weapon now too, so now I'm also a player in the game, I'm a big boy "kinda situation

James Holland Naomi thinks it does. Mao is an Earther, Protogen is an Earth Corp. As at this episode, after Erinwright’s power play, they kind of do

this is the episode i would call back to the one where Bobby was attacked on Ganymede. now we see the proto-beasts have an incendiary device implanted in their chest which in this episode exploded once the beast pulled it out. if you recall the last few seconds of that episode we saw the drone hover over bobby, then the Proto-beast moved over her, there was a red flash from the drone (triggering the bomb in the beast) then a blue light expanded from the proto-beast (as it lit up), Bobby rolled away from it. what all this tells us very early on is that the drone was watching everything, had control of the beast and blew it up after the attack with the failsafe device. as i said back then, the clues were there lol. and hey, is it possible that the beast on the Roci knew about the bomb because the previous beast learned about it the hard way??

I only realized that just recently.

Bobby's a great character. I like that moment on the shuttle when Cotyar pulled out his fancy pistol to check and she reacts with "Mwaah . . Adarable!!" like he'd produced a kitten. Then, when they arrived on the Guyanshiyin, how she dives onto the cucumber sandwiches is hilarious. That girl is making the most of her work travel.

The description of the proto-monster in the books is even more terrifying but I'll let you two discover that on your own 😀

@@keithnphx63 I think they reduced that on purpose not to get compared to zombie movies or the walking dead series that was popular when s1 came out. The expanse is not a zombie story, but if Eros was shown as it was described in the books, people might have thought is was and might have been put off... At least that's my humble opinion...

You need to binge the next season right away!!! 😆

Prax now has the terrible wisdom to accept his daughter might be dead. WE KNOW she is not, but he doesn't. He saw the proto-being for what it is, a being/creature driven by understandable, but non-human drives. To me, throwing the warhead was a symbolic way of letting go. He will still want to search for her, find her, maybe cure her if possible, or find out if he just killed her and make Stickland pay. Because he is that sort of guy.

I hope you both are prepared for the awesomeness that is Season 3 :)

In the books, the science ship at Venus is described as being rapidly disassembled, system by system, then by sub system, then by individual bolts and wires. So fast that it almost looked like it exploded.

This is why this season is my favorite of all 4

Every season gets more epic. Truth be told I wish you guys reacted to this show more often haha, your reactions to it are great.

I think y'all are right, Naomi thinks if the Belt has it, there will be too much fear of retribution for Earth/Mars to use it on Belters again.

Now you've done S2, you can watch The Expanse Crack by Yanheda, it's a scream, as I'm sure others must have urged you to.

I don't know, I think the gear for rest of the story arc was set in when Erinwright made his switch and killed Martian prime minister and gave the order to Mao

The Protomolecule is a really interesting scifi alien. It's not an outside force imposing on a civilization. It's consequences are a result of what civilization makes it out to be.

The poster you received is magnificent. It's the real solar system, which the Expanse is set in. The only thing to remember in that the distances between the planets has been enormously reduced on the poster to make them all fit in. In reality, the planets are tiny grains of dust spread across a football field.

Just great. And I must say i love expanse intro so much and the music.... Season 3 is ride again.. but you cant expect less anymore :D

The nuclear missile core was the Hybrid's "Precious". The scene reminded me of Gollum in LOTR:RoTK. Both the Hybrid and Gollum were so obsessed with their Precious that they were oblivious to their own deaths by fire.

It never gets boring. One of the best shows ever.

I got a Pūr Kleen shirt sent to me by a good friend after he & his wife got hooked on the show after my pleading for them to give it a chance. Normally I’d never wear something like that, but it’s a testament to just how much I’ve enjoyed the show as it’s become a new workout shirt for me. The Arboghast. I don't know if you've ever bought Ikea furniture, but it always comes disassembled, and they always supply a diagram showing all the pieces and fasteners hovering around each other. This diagram is called the "exploded-view." 3 significant faces floating by in the venusian atmosphere: Adam Savage, thinking "So much for this cameo...", Col. Janus, thinking "How could this have happened?", and Dr. Iturbe, thinking "I was right about *everything!* Life is *good* today!" The ship parts in the background seem to be arranged in the shape of letters. I definitely see two 'H's, and what could be an 'M' and a couple 'A's. ...On the other hand, it could just be a ducky and a horsey.

It cracks me up that they keep obsessing over Anderson Dawes. Dawes doesn't have a sample of the protomolecule--only a scientist attempting to study it remotely. Dawes is busy building up a coalition of Belters. So it makes sense that we don't see him for long stretches, because we know exactly what he can and can't do.

Amos' reaction to Naomi tranquilizing him was simply that he'd made a mistake trying to make a moral decision on his own. He was upset only at himself for even trying. And then Amos thanked Holden for being a leader he could rely on for making the correct moral decisions. The loose warhead on the Roci was the one removed from the torpedo they loaded the protomolecule into. I don't think Avasarala really trusted Bobbie until Bobbie held out her armored hand. But remember that Mars never got their hybrid from Mao because Errinwright destroyed the Karakoum. Earth hasn't gotten anything from Mao. So only Mao (and his lackey Strickland) have anything except the sample that Johnson now has. Do you remember as the Somnambulist lifted from Ganymede and was challenged by the harbormaster, they showed us Naomi checking out the protomolecule torpedo on her screen. That was the moment she was sending the coordinates to Johnson. In that last scene, they showed us Strickland was on a moon of Jupiter. I Googled images of the Jovian moons and saw that they are on the moon Io. And that's where we were left for more than a year before season 3.

I was waiting for you to see this episode :D !

Our solar system is really cool, the poster will help put it in prospective

Avasarala, Johnson, Erinwright and Dawes are are all leaders of causes, they all do extreme things for their causes. In an ideal world, we would hope that all these causes to find commonality and coexist and help each other. History told us that we are very far from that, assuming it is at all possible. I suppose, the only "good" or "bad" about these 4 leaders are their priorities and what lines they will or will not crossed. Despite all their great talk and natural charisma and cunning, Erinwright and Dawes talk a big game about the causes they represents but they actually put themselves above or equate themselves with their causes. While Johnson and Avasarala would the well being of the Belt and Earth before their own safety. And they don't cross the line on massive loss of lives. Johnson would rather die than let the Belters uses the missiles on the inner planets. Avasarala stayed behind with the people of Earth in face of an extinct level event.

You can love both Star Trek and the Expanse. Traditional Star Trek depicts an aspirational future, a world that one can hope for. The Expanse is our world projected into a future world. Current attempts at Star Trek have shifted towards the Expanse version of a future without the fully formed and compelling characters, and the excellent writing. Besides investigating moral questions in a future landscape, another similarity they both (traditional Star Trek and the Expanse) have is that the hopefulness in Star Trek is with the Federation and in the Expanse it is with the Rocinante crew. One can certainly prefer one over the other, but that doesn't exclude liking both. I hate current Star Trek and I love the Expanse.

@@nottopcat5956 Unfortunately, that's not true. A great deal of people prefer familiarity to challenge, so what makes dialogue or plot or character "great" can vary enormously, from person to person. So, so many of the most popular television shows - the ones that actually get the most views and highest ratings, not the ones that get the most conversation and buzz - are extremely formulaic, low concept, and risk averse.

James R key word being “could”. There’s definitely a hump to get over if you’re not drawn to the genre, and many won’t stick with it. Anecdotally, I’ve just finished rewatching the whole thing with my housemate who’s regular diet is reality shows and soap operas. She didn’t enjoy it at all to begin with, but we made a deal to stick with it till ep 4. She was sufficiently interested by then to continue, and except for a wobble at ep 6, genuinely enjoyed the rest.

That electrician basically asked Bobbie: "Can you step on me, please?"

To me Fred Johnson is a good guy. His own government kept the info that the people on the station he blew up had actually surrendered. The takeaway being that if he had known, he would never have made that decision. He was crushed afterward. Dawes found him in a bar in the belt essentially begging for death. An evil man would not only have blown the station regardless of surrender, but he wouldn't feel bad afterwards.

Lol I'm so dumb. I went into this thinking "man, I know what's coming up but I don't remember them cramming it all into the season 2 finale." Then I remembered that all the parts I was thinking of actually happen in the first half of season 3.

And here comes season 3.

I think the blue floaty lights are not a sign of infection but rather the influence of the protomolecule. It may only be a visual thing for the viewers to mark whenever the protomolecule is manefesting it's influence. We saw the how infection looked like in season 1 finally.

I only followed your Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul reactions.....but recall you once mentioning something about 'wrestling'. I just found out about an hour ago......what you were talking about. THAT's cool. I remember watching in the mid to late 1960s......Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson.....Pepper Gomez & guys like Haystack....Gorilla, etc. But then, I sort of started getting back into it around the time of that 1st Wrestlemania event. Guys like Rowdy Roddy, etc. Was just checking out some old Axe & Smash images, along with a couple of videos. I now have a new appreciation for your channel.
