I appreciate your honesty 😊
I read the book about ten years ago when I was 20. I recall passages that were disturbing but none as powerful as the movie. I am one of those unfortunates that can't appreciate a book if the film is well made. 😢

Ellen Burstyn conveyed Chis' anguish better in the movie. The audience empathise with her more.
