L, I think he should say *unlikely* a slip of tongue. Good ppl that always do good deeds, will have protection from the protectors.. but from kamma point, all the bad things will start coming into presence tense from the future events, so the do gooder can have bad lucks as result. Which should be welcome so that when the body gets old n weak.. no bad lucks happen to manage.

@@peacebe2u480 that's not how kamma works. kamma means deed commited with "intention". this is taken off directly from buddhist sutta/sutra. there is no kammic effect arising out of future events, only from the past or the present. clear your ignorance and if it is not a topic you are familiar with, stay away and do not post anything about it, for you will cause others to misunderstand with your wrong posts.

I think wht the interviewee meant was usually those ppl who are doing good deeds (and trying to accumulate "merits"), are doing so because they experienced possession before and want to chase away these evil spirits by getting into God's good graces. An example could be himself that he's referring to, haha.

@@JosephinaALiu No. Let me help to clear this up. In Buddhism we believe in debts and merits. Or in some way, we call this Karma. Debtors are people/entity whom we have hurt or taken advantage of sometime or another in our countless lives reborn through the aeons. These beings can be reborn as human or any entity, seen or unseen to retrieve back whatever we did or owe them. For example are why sometimes a dog will bite a person out of no reason or nowhere. Or why sometimes we see someone for the first time and just as if we knew him/her a long time and wanted to marry them. A better example is why some spouses will remain in the marriage despite constant abuse by the other spouse and still takes care of them wholeheartedly. Anyway back to the topic, merits are like money. When you have it, your debtors will come after you. If you don't have anything to return who will want to find you? Find you also nothing to take back. That's why it's a very common experience for beginner cultivator to experience life going tough despite doing alot of good deeds / merits... these usually balance out after sometime. But it's more prominent when we're first starting out. As you start getting paid... your debtors want a share of what you owe them. There is also another thing is, ghost usually only find people with merit. According to Buddhist Cosmology, Ghost are a realm which are pitiful and always lacking. Lacking in food, water etc... Hungry ghosts then tend to approach people with merits to ask for help. So these are why people with merits can tend to encounter these happenings more than those without merit. On the other end of the spectrum, people with merits can also encounter Devas (gods in Buddhist Cosmology). As some Devas likes human who practices good.

This benefits the spirits and ourselves. We will be tested as we advance along our spiritual cultivation. It's important to have a Guru/Sifu to guide us

My own experience... is that as one gets closers to break away from the cycle.. the more negative spiritual forces will come to obstruct you. It is their job. I had 2 encounters with negatives forces and one with a force that prevents me from interacting with their religion's member. By the way, in this life, my practice is largely Buddhist, although I can see the similarity amongst religions (not their corrupted state). Cheers
