I find it astonishing that this long after WW2 it is still possible to find huge amounts of viable ammunition and munitions, and on occasions viable firearms, together with bayonets, helmets and buckles and insignia. Countries have thrown away incalculable amounts of money on equipment abandoned unused by their military forces!

It took decades for bodies to rot away. So many people were lost in wars and not that many people wanted to go play in graveyards digging around where they might get blown to bits. There is a very real chance of DYING just digging these bodies up. There are missiles, hand grenades, landmines, just everything in the world to put you in your own grave. These old battlefields can be deathtraps. You can't run a plow over a field filled with live ammunition, hand grenades, etc. These people must surely work at their own peril doing something they enjoy. It doesn't make is any safer though.

I mean the war ended, they did not need that huge ammount of millitary equipment why would they waste money and manpower (when they had to rebuild whole countries from 0) to collect all that stuff? There are literally places where they left tanks behind because it was more expensive to move them home then to leave them behind

  • @felixcat9318

@@lothbrokragnar838 I'm not referring to the armies that own the abandoned equipment, but am surprised that in the time that the equipment was damaged by abandoned and now, no one had taken stuff! Invariably, anything abandoned gets taken by whomever gets to it first, and its surprising that after all these decades, huge amounts remain to be discovered.

To me, finding personal items speak the loudest, a ring, wallet, cup, canteen, mess kits, home front items, etc... I collect vintage historical militaria, some 519 uniforms, helmets. Caps, hats, boots, firearms, communication sets that still work from WW1 and 2, korea, Vietnam, but it's the pay books, diaries, hand drawn maps, cartoons, diagrams, that bring real attention, a battle damaged rifle stock, shrapnel bullet holes in a helmet, those speak loudest. My 1943 Willy's MB has shrapnel damage on the front crossover tube under the radiator, makes ya wonder.

It's commonly called "clickbait" a photo that lures you in to watch the video, strange form of deception.

Queenie Lo Hsing Hui if he did find it he wouldn’t be allowed to disturb it as it would be a war grave and he would have to call the authorities or someone else to deal with the body and have a proper funeral.

Belo trabalho! Ao resgatar esses objetivos, você contribui com o meio ambiente, já que muitos contém produtos contaminantes, e o mais importante, contribui com a história, porquê ajuda a compreender os fatos ocorridos na região. Abraço

I wonder what happened to the bodies in the war zone. Did they just disintegrate or are they still there?
