The world of online animation is vast and unapologetic, and it’s no wonder why the limitless imagination of other creators can inspire others to make art for themselves. While its popularity among the average person has increased pretty substantially over the last decade or so, Animation is an art form that often goes underappreciated- cast aside as nothing more than entertainment for children.
Today, we’re taking a closer look at the history of animation as it pertains to the internet, as well as how it began, the first websites that hosted internet animations like Newgrounds and JoeCartoon, and the creators that made it all possible.
