Quite a lot of iconic racing games not included. Pitstop II. I didn't notice Geoff Crammond's games in there either. Quite a few non-F1 games included in the list also. Why would Al Unser Jnr make a F1 game ?

No Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2? It's like removing Mozart from a list of the best classical music artists...

I loved playing F1 GP Satoru Nakajima and F1 Circus when i was a kid. Great games.

2000's "Grand Prix 3" was among the first F1 game I ever played. It was so astonishingly realistic coming from 2D top-down view racer... and the physics/car weight the feeling of having grip or the lack of it on the track was just unbelievably good (I believe the full title was "Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 3"). 11:00 tell me, doesn't this feel like a current game and not something 20 years old? It's that good.

Without Jeoff Crammond's "Grand Prix" series this reviw it's not complete at all. It was best sim in 90's

You are absolutely correct, it was the first proper racing game, the graphics were excellent.

Need to include the Microprose Grand Prix series. That's where I started, on an Amstrad 386 PC.

*the most memorable games for me (and my friends) are: Continental Circus [taito], Pole Position [namco], F1 Exhaust Note [sega], Super Monaco GP [sega], Virtua Racing [sega] and F1 Grand Prix - PC [Microprose]...*

Played this (Accolade's Grand Prix Circuit) on a IBM PS/2 and you're right, lots of race games that era just used the PC speaker beeping in a rapid sequence to emulate engine sounds :) Test Drive III was very cool btw. - just set graphics to low and it got much easier since less obstacles in the way :)

F1 2010 and F1 2013 legendary games. F1 2010 was a game breaker. I played it today on my 360 and im amazed how well it has held up. Amazing memories. F1 2013 has classic F1 cars. Amazing feature. I played it on my 360 and it was amazing.

A few I personally would have included (though I know there are too many to show them all). Revs (Geoff crammond’s first racing game on the old BBC Micro) Pitstop 2 on c-64 which I think was the first 3D driving game with splitscreen. And of course Crammond’s Formula 1 Grand Prix on the Amiga which was a technical marvel and a fantastic game.

Proud to say I witnessed the dawn of arcade games, played Turdo (1981) many times, still playing racing games today.

I played the 1992 ferrari grand prix challenge it was the favourite of mine, taking me back to my childhood...

Where is Formula One Grand Prix (PC, Amiga) from 1993? One of the most important F1 games.

Was about to say the same. Microprose Grand Prix 1 2, 3 and 4 are probably the biggest landmarks in F1 games before f1 2010 and f1 2013 from Codemasters.

Ah... Grand Prix Unlimited.... The first PC game I ever played. I still remember the 2 or 3 frames a minute at the start of a race like it was yesterday! :D

Games ahead of their time: Pole Position Continental Circus F1 Exhaust Note Formula One 2001 F1 Championship 2006 F1 2010 (WOW) F1 2012-2017 2009 to 2010 was arguably the biggest leap in terms of graphics quality. Damn!

We still use that overhead from behind perspective from Pole Position today all these years later. It was a game changer.

proud owner of grand prix circuit,best game ever!

This F1 Racing Simulation Serie with it's absolutely lethal damage model. Spent so much sunday afternoons to cause crashes at first chicane in Monza. I really enjoyed F1 2010 to 2012 but nothing never toped Grand Prix 3.

Very Good...

The first Grand Prix game I played was Pitstop II (Not on list). Accolade 1988 Grand Prix Circuit, was the best. Played it for every, along with the Test Drive games. But Microprose Grand Prix (also not on list), blew everything out of the competition, and for a long time afterward too, with it's amazing multiplayer racing. Although they had a second one out, with some good updates (also not on this list). They also came out later with Microprose Grand Prix Manager, 1 and 2, which wasn't the same, and later Microprose Grand Prix 3 & 4, similar to 1 & 2. I bought 4, but it wouldn't run on my modern computer, even though 1 would still run. I tried a few others in later years, but nothing really matched Microprose. Although, I must say, the graphics on some of these most recent ones are amazing.

I had 1999's F1 World Grand Prix and loved it .

Pole Position needs to get the Daytona USA Championship 3 Treatment and needs to be brought back with realistic and fantasy F1 Circuits

i think you really messed up by leaving out 2 of the biggest ever F1 games on PC - Microprose' s Grand Prix (aka World Circuit) and Grand Prix 2

F1 in 3D games are the best.

I remember playing Formula One 99 as my first PSX game. The cars were ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to control for me as a 8 year old kiddie 😂
