    Hendrix isnt a blues player?, he didnt even play blues to begin with, one flaw about hendrix playing blues was him not using feel. He just used big marshall stacks and distorted the hell out of it then plays a solo that just sticks to bends.

    While the accident did help form his play style that had nothing to do with them moving away from the blues. The bands practice space was across the street from a cinema, then one day they were watching people go in and out of the theater while Black Sabbath starring Vincent Price was playing. Then then question was asked. if people like going to the movies to be scared why wouldn't they like to hear scary music?

    @@zakkmylde1712 Eh not really Sabbath stuff from the 70’s was very bluesy specifically songs with Ozzy’s Just more darker and and sinister sounding Paranoid, Black Sabbath, Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath all are really bluesy I mean the band basically was just the dark mirror image of Led Zeppelin.

How in the hell is Sabbath a mirror to Zeppelin? The only thing they have in common is roots in blues and you can say that about literally any rock or metal band.

    Popular years…hello! Did YOU see B B King on the charts under his own name anytime after 1980? (Not including his appearance on U2’s 1987 track When Love Came To Town, as HE was on THEIR song.) Definitely not the BB King one. He was playing too many notes. He wasn't known for playing very many notes, he played good notes.

    @@periachi4961 there's nothing wrong but when you talk about blues you can't just sum up british blues guitarists in the 60s because that was just them loving it and influenced by it and was so called "rock" when it was just them covering blues songs. Real blues would've been just delta and then chicago electric blues which is the real deal

    You can’t play early blues without some slide. Too many influential players to name while giving the proper respect to each of them in a short. Each generation has had someone to help revive the blues. Let’s keep the tradition alive and experience living.

    @@DannyKellyMusic that's true and all but the unfortunate reality is he didn't get to be that public in the guitar world, he was just mostly seen around England but didn't give the same credibility among like other British guitarists we all love. Hes sort of in the same league, players like paul kossof, peter green, etc.till now in the 21st century some mention him but as to share their opinions on rory himself.

    You need to go back to 1927, where the blues really began. Motherless Child written by Barbacue Bob in 1927. It was covered and released in Eric Clapton’s 1994 album From The Cradle.
