For Kubo, the artwork is literally just as important as the story, so this makes sense. Though I would argue more that by Soul Society it was more that he found a style that suited his goals just as much as was his own style if that makes sense. And just to add to what your said.

Yeah Soul Society is when he genuinely found his style, but I think it was still undefined till Arrancar

My favourite expression from Kubo's art is when the stern Ritter mocks Chojiros death and uses his bankai on Yamaji. The look of sadness and disgust in his eyes is pure gold Same happens in the Arrancar arc where ressurecion Kaname mocks Sajin' s for being ugly. Instead of throwing back a onliner , Kubo draws the most disappointed doge face possible

I heard people talking that bleach's art became terrible , expressionless after aizen defeat . They not only don't have background but also it was edgy and it only for females who wants pretty boys. See this is where bleach hate now stands to the point they are bashing it art to be crap where it's no doubt it is one of the best manga art of all time . I even heard people talking that bleach's new anime is cgi . At this point I am not sure they are sane or not .

People will just make up anything, to hate on something tbh, they have the right to their own opinion, but The series 100% became far more expressive!

Finally found some good Bleach content. Don't get me wrong, there are youtubers who mention Bleach in their vids, but it's usually just them comparing Bleach to other animes or literally just mentioning it, reacting to a particular fight etc. So when I find a channel that actually knows Bleach and is a fan too, I'm full of happiness. Great work, keep going! You've got a sub from me.

Think about it, Kubo draw at least the last 50 chapter with health problem. I feel the drop in story, i feel the rush of character development. But never i feel the drop in art style. Thats how good of a mangaka he is.

honestly the fashion and line work has an Hirohiko Araki vibe, in the later versions. The facial expressions with shading gives impact to a lot of scenes

Thank you so much, If your curious This is the video that was my inspiration , it was a naruto video funnily enough! kzread.info/dash/bejne/hK1hs8maYNDcZM4.html&ab_channel=Mikeyuubi I did see a art Bleach video in my recommended but never watched it, If I remember correctly it's like "The Artistic Evolution of Bleach" or something like that, When I saw it I did not watch it because I was in the process of making this one, and did not want to subconsciously copy any stuff in his video respectively

I think one of the biggest reasons BtW art doesn't have the same oomf as Bleach art is because so far we've only seen the more care free side of everything similar to the substitute arc in bleach. Don't get me wrong there where some impactful panels and dark chapters but for the most part it is care free and felt like the prelude to the heavy stuff. That is how the start of BtW feels. As for the hell arc art, it has a different feel cuz it is a different medium which Kubo is not nearly as used to but if you pay attention you can still feel the characters emotion just based of their faces. You can see how care free and happy each character is (in their own way) specially Ichigo. This is the most relaxed we've ever seen him, and you can tell that although unnerved by the enemy he is still confident in himself and his abilities. Anyways I can't wait to see where Kubo takes BtW and Bleach from here and how he evolves his digital art cuz it is starting to become fenomenal and I feel like it is starting to surpass his traditional art but I cant say for certain until I see it within a manga in a fully fledged out way. tbh I think that we haven;t gotten any BtW bc he wants to master digital art first and bc he's been busy with the bleach anime.

Lets not mention that kubo’s art style IS STILL EVOLVING, EVEN AFTER BLEACH IS OVER, JUST LOOKING AT THE BREATH FROM THE JAWS OF HELL ONE SHOT, AND THE SPECIAL CALENDER ART, if you take a look, you’ll notice that the jaws are slightly less defined, but becoems more realistic, and they still pop out more. Bro’s not done cooking

I really like the way kubo uses black and white in his art ( specially in TYBW). It is always cool to look at.

TYBW anime have done a lot of justice to kubo's art and story. Kubo himself even drew the original gotei 13 and featured them in the end credit of episode 7, where as in the manga it was never shown how the squad looked other than some shadow silhouette. If you got the blu ray edition of cour 1 there is even more stuff + an artbook with concept design from how characters look in the show with its new direction. Basically the pipeline for new people entering would be to read the manga up to tybw (faster) and then switch over to the anime if they have time on their hand (skip fillers unless its not a problem). It would be sick to see Kubo continue the hell arc with his new artstyle today as he seems to have a better grasp of how to stylize anatomy while keeping his own style intact, not to mention what new type of design he can come up with for Bleach.

Great video man. Glad I'm so early lol. I never read the Bleach manga and I'm patiently waiting until October for the TYBW to be animated, but even in the anime you can see how much the art changes. The art for the fullbring art in the anime is so good imo, it genuinely feels like another anime than the previous arcs for some reason (to me at least), it just feels so much sadder and serious. Though the art for early Substitute Shinigami and Soul Society arcs might be worse, they are undeniably unforgettable and such classics! I'm currently rewatching Bleach (EP 36 atm) with my family, and the cousin and dad never watched it, so I can't wait to see their reactions to all the fights, emotional moments, and especially twists. The cousin has literally no idea Aizen is the bad guy and isn't suspecting a single thing LMAO, he even said it was sad he "died" and that he was a nice guy. Oh boy... I haven't seen the Fullbring arc in almost a decade and have almost no memories of it, so can't wait to reach it
