The Evolution and History of the Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys

Спорт

Peter Capolino, founder of Mitchell & Ness, gives an extremely interesting lecture chronicling every change to the Philadelphia Phillies baseball jersey since they became a team in 1883. Highlights include the origin of the St. Louis Cardinals logo, the hidden third L on the Phillies jerseys and Capolino's childhood memories of the Philadelphia Eagles locker room.
The lecture was given at an event at the newly renovated vintage sports apparel store, Shibe Sports, on 13th and Sansom in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thank you to Shibe Sports for hosting the event and being such an awesome Philly sports apparel outlet. The rights to this video are owned by PhilthyBrass.com

Peter is one of the nicest guys in the world and the world's leading authority in vintage Phillies uniform. I had the pleasure of meeting him on a few occasions and was lucky enough for him to sell me a Shibe Park stadium seat, genuine 1972 Phillies jacket and wool flannel pants to match my 1971 Phillies Woody Fryman jersey. There are not too many out there who would sell vintage items from his store to a fan when they are in the business of selling reproductions.
