Great video guys! I'm going there next monday. Didn't know public transport was free in Luxemburg. So that's why my trainticket from Ghent was only €23! Thx for clearing that out 😁

Another great video from you guys! I did this hike probably a month before you did (together with the Eislek trail) and it was nice revisiting it again in a more blooming edition with your video 😊 Keep up the good work! It really inspires people like me (danish hiker not used to much elevation) to discover places hikers around here know nothing about 🙏

😀 When I was ~13-20 years old, I did with my father, 4-7days hikes, on 2500-3000m mountains in the Austrian Alps. We walked from lodge to lodge, sometimes picking some peaks here and there. I didn't like being on a peak that high, it's scary because of how steep it is 360 degrees around you. Nonetheless, I really miss it 😞 It was awesome! I remember that the beer tastes real good after a long day walking! And lots of pasta and Wiener schnitzel for dinner. If you're fit enough and can afford it, I recommend anyone to do it. Get a guide, a group. Don't do it without any experience. It's sometimes dangerous.

Sounds amazing! I think I'd have a harder time convincing my teenage sons to go into the mountains with me than my 70-something parents 😄

Nice review, we just missed each other 🙂. FYI, food at Ettelbruck camping is great. Best 'videeke' I've ever eaten! And at the moment long term parking at Ettelbruck station is free (if you can find a spot).

So nice to see this review, after I have just finished the Kautenbach- Goebelsmühle part last saturday! started at Kautenbach, where you straight away start with a steep climb on a sinlge trail, vertically along the ridge of the Bromm with cold muscles. Nice start! As already stated in your review, in my opinion I expected more single trails, not as much "Forest-Highways". Therefore, the single trails you DO get, are of a very high level, small, with ridges and beautiful views, and nice trails up and down slopes. The mountain ridge called Hoflee is really outstanding, with protruding rocks you have to climb or surround in between flowering yellow broom ( Brem in NL) , and stunning views. The middle part of the trail which I did I found quit boring, with long straights of 3,5-4 metres wide. in between some single trails again. Molberlee is truly a real pearl, i even spotted some lizards there. Then the part befor Goebelsmühle is superb again! I can't wait to take the second part from Goebelsmühle to Ettelbruck. A small tip: Leave your heavy moutainboots at home, and take your walking sticks. This makes it easier and lighter. Mountainboots are overkill if you are somewhat experienced, I noticed... My average speed was about 4,5km/h and I was satisfied with that. And indeed, trains were substituded by busses due to renewal of railroads. If you , like I did, start early in the morning, you will have the opportunity to see and hear lots of wildlife, and don't forget to be on a ridge before the golden hour, so you can witness the golden glow of the rising sun shining on the surrounding mountains! Thank you for your great video!

Very informative video! I'm going to be travelling from Ireland and in Luxembourg for four nights at the end of May and want to try and do two separate day hikes if possible. I was thinking maybe Mullerthal 2 and part of this one from Ettelbruck to Goebelsmühle possibly. Which would you say it busier in terms of other hikers? Also if you could only choose one which would you choose? Thanks!

Hm, tough choice. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like the Mullerthal, especially if you can do it on weekdays to avoid crowds. The Lee trail is beautiful as well but more tranquil, and more challenging.

There are no shops on the trail - the campings do have some basic stuff - so we brought freeze-dried hiking meals ourselves. If you arrive in time you can have dinner at Camping du Moulin and Camping du Nord.
