The Epic of Gilgamesh (short movie)

Ойын-сауық

The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest written story in human history. This is my humble attempt at making a cinematic piece of it.

Credits
Thanks to Ashurbanipal for making copies of the epic in his library at Nineveh. And to the Babylonians and Medes, who burned the library in 612 BC, unaware that they baked the clay tablets and made them more durable.

Very good initiative and promising film by Table of Gods. Cheer up with that. We'll be alert. _________________________________________ Now, the shorts is a good example of the variants that result from hermeneutics, that is, from the interpretation that each person gives to a text, as in this case. In the next opportunity I will share mine, regarding the encounter between Enkidu and Shamhat and the combat between Gilgamesh, Enkidu against the protector of the forests. Another perspective. Thank you for your time. Greetings

This poem has been an inspiration for Jewish Thora, for literature and mostly it has been showing the truth about the human nature for 5000 years! Nothing has changed since then. You have made a great video. Mesopotamia has been the craddle of human civilisation for 6000 years along with Elam.

Actually, I think it was the irresistible bait that they used to trap Enkidu was the first step in making him human. They said that after laying with the woman for a whole week, he lost his speed and couldn't keep up with the wild animals when he tried to return to them. Then, he developed the thoughts of a man. The other acts of bathing, anointing, clothing and feeding him were steps in making him a more civilized man. That's a pretty crucial part of the story.

I don't know you, and never heard of you or your KZread channel. To keep the comment short, I stumble upon your short film. It's very good, I really enjoyed it. You have a talent for story telling. The gift of gab, some might say. I'm no stranger to the Epic, I've read it many times but I've never heard it vocally before. Even if it was a condensed telling. The part of story I liked the most was the ending, how you shared your sons reaction to the story.

Another ancient story prophesying Jesus's sacrifice that brought in the new covenant. I'm assuming the "drinking of beer" to become a man was symbolic for "suffering" and so he had a lot of early suffering that turned him into such a brave man for his age. There is only one true path to eternal happiness, the way. Jesus. 😊
