The most amazing thing about the TEA fight is that the lore behind it is that Alexander isn't actually trying to stop you. He's testing you. He literally fights you an infinite number of times, his complete control over time against your Echo's ability to simply do-over indefinitely, until he finally realizes that he cannot actually defeat you in the end, and he deems you worthy and lets you win.

My favorite part is when Metal: Brute Justice Mode starts. Hands down my favorite song in the entire game, especially the Primals' special version of it.

Every other raider: I need at least 3 full bars, probably even 4. Rai Geki: haha funy 2 bar

As a SMN player, seeing those dots being the last thing that kills it was intense to see

As a RDM it makes me mad. Summoner is way too strong in TEA, and making it so that they also have the advantage of DoTs making it possible to physically do damage for a much longer period of time than non-DoT classes are allowed to just makes it even worse. Fuck SMN.

Just play/practice BLM. Decently potent DOT and rewarding high damage almost all the time. Good balance imo, though play what you want, all is viable in the end

Nope. no matter how hard the individual teams may try, Alexander and Bahamut are almost impossible to screw up in terms of spectacle. Even FF13 wasn't able to do it, and those were hands down the least impressive summons in the series. Oh sure, their individual models were intricately detailed, but their size left much to be desired, plus the exclusion of Ifrit and Titan from the Eidolon line-up was irritating, to say the least(although, their appearances elsewhere in that game did make up for it, especially Titan).

I looked forward to this video since your upload of the Moebius (Orchestrated) music. Plenty more things I wanted to say since then too, as well as a note at the bottom for those regarding doubt over Moebius as the final music: 1) I still cannot get over how close your victory was simply by Damage-Over-Time. I do not remember any such close calls in any video game I have ever played or watched, let alone unscripted. 2) A small portion of The Primals' remix of Metal (Brute Justice) (i.e. ~3:51) reminds me of Lu Bu's music from the Dynasty Warriors franchise. 3) I can also say that with this video, the sound effects throughout the Perfected Alexander Phase are gorgeous; from his transformation, his attacks to the slowing ticking noise during Temporal Prison. I only wished that the ticking lasted much longer and became more distorted up to the enrage activation to emphasis how little time you literally had left. 4) A special note about the skybox of the Perfected Alexander arena. There is of course the black hole behind normal Alexander, but there is also the white moon-like object behind your party during your victory. Judging by how everything is radiating away from it, I would say that it is actually a 'white hole' - the hypothetical counterpart of black holes where everything is being radiated away from the body. Considering this would be presumably be connected to a black hole to form a wormhole, I would imagine that it is connected to the aforementioned black hole in the arena - producing a cycle befitting somebody like Alexander. Finally, for those who are confused or frustrated on why Moebius plays instead of Rise during Alexander Perfected, allow me to explain why this might be the case. First of all, this is not the first time that music from the Eorzean Symphony played at the very final boss of ultimate - an orchestrated version of Ultima plays at the last phase of the Weapon's Refrain ultimate (the Bahamut trail only stands out possibly because it is the very first ultimate trial included in the game). Considering that another Eorzean Symphony performance had concluded this year, I will imagine that this will apply for future ultimate trails, with new much to match. Then there is the nature of Moebius and Rise in terms of their theme and circumstances. Though Rise does play at Alexander Prime's phase 2, the lyrics however refer to the Illuminati (or at this case, the 'Blue Hand' in the lyrics) and is essentially about them and how they will use Alexander to complete their goals - not really befitting Alexander's real nature. On the other hand, Moebius does fit, since this concerns Alexander himself and his deity-like nature. That, and it contains elements from 'Locus', which is something of an Alexander leitmotif as well. Finally, this version of Moebius has an inspirational tone - as if egging on the Warrior of Light to defeat this Iron Colossus once and for all. Anyway, forgive this long rambling comment. Congratulations on the clear, and thank you for this non-commentary for the 'Epic of Alexander' upload. And I will look forward to uploads like these in the future.

Love the concept of Moebius egging on the Warrior of Light, since we learn during the normal raid series that Alexander orchestrated his own defeat.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate there's a DPS player named Tunnel Visionary and a WHM named Rai Geki. I see what you did there!

I like the ending.. I was ready to be a grumpy bastard XD.

@@georgewashington7982 Epic of Alex syncs you down to 475, that's why the gear is better than 500 since you get meld slots (combine good stats from 470/475 for best results potentially)

That ending reminds me of that time myself and some randoms beat Odin while he performed his Enrage. Not charging, PREFORMED. The symbol appeared, it cut in half and JUUUUST before damage could be calculated he died. It was by far the most butthole clenching moment I've had playing this

How the music kicks up for final stand is so epic

How poetic that an enrage called "Temporal Prison" is cleared AFTER the fact by damage classified as "Damage Over Time". Seeing as this was an enrage mechanic that deliberately lets him take damage after it ends, I do wonder if that was intentional

Im sure it was, same reason ultima’s dots still tick even after he kills the last person for a few seconds, they want to allow for clutch clears like that

I really want to do this fight, but from what I have seen a wipe at any point means starting right back at living liquid and getting to Alexander prime and going back to that would crush any kind of motivation I would have.

All of the ultimates definitely have a pretty big learning curve. The greatest motivation is to enjoy the journey however, to beat all the mechanics and getting consistent enough at them to reach the last phase and then finally getting the clear after the hard work feels twice as good.

Illythria no Mae the black cat is called Shanoa. She’s important to the Alexander story line, was in one of the Alexander Midas raid encounters and is tied into ultimate for the Inception Formation mechanic with the true heart that turns gold

correct, however note that anything longer than 15mins already means you only get 4 full attempts an hour to clear and that time quickly adds up over time. In terms of current mmo fight lengths the ultimates are pretty high up there

Generally just using it is fine, if someone uses parsers as tools for harassment it becomes bannable.

Anything within the game is a joke compared to the ultimate fights. Even if you compare titan maximum savage to an old ultimate fight like Bahamut Ultimate.

wow, whoever edited this together should be ashamed. random PoV switches for no reason that just look jarring? not putting the PoV of tanks or heers during t/h focused mechanics? yeah sure was great seeing the Paladin die and the camera was just facing the floor the whoke time. these camera angles make Blair Witch Project look like a marvel movie.

I don't play this game. ...and judging by how incomprehensible it all is, I don't see that changing.

Here's the thing: The Epic of Alexander *is 100% optional.* You're not required to beat it for anything in the game. It does give a rare title and an item you can exchange for one of the weapons, but that's about it. Basically bragging rights.

@@lazernor Trust me when I say that the game will be much, much, *much* more simple when you actually play it. The sweaty gamer interface here is the World of Warcraft level of nonsense (not to mention an addon of I see it right), but the only people who use it are the ones that specifically do raids like these. I'd say try out the free trial, but it has been... temporary suspended beacuse the colossal player numbers ._.
