The Entire Life Of Tywin Lannister

Tywin Lannister..has there ever been a better candidate at playing the game of thrones than this man. A tactical, strategical and militant genius that single handedly ensured not only his family’s survival, but seen House Lannister thrive. Said to be the man who truly ruled the seven kingdoms when he served as hand of the king to Aerys Targaryen the second, Tywin Lannister always appeared to be able to think ahead in light of many opposing obstacles. In todays video I’m going to take you through the entire life of Tywin Lannister, from his early days in Casterly Rock up until his death at the hands of his own son Tyrion. Welcome to Game of Thronelore, this is the life of Tywin Lannister.

I never liked that saying, sure it's true in the animal kingdom but in the actual kingdom the lion is obviously a lannister since the lannister sigil is a lion and the sheep are obviously the smallfolk (or as some lannisters would say filthy peasants) so in terms of the real human kingdom evan the lions cannot defeat a million angry sheep.

I miss GoT seasons 1 - 4 the most, when character development and world building were the priorities and it felt like the show would go on forever. I’m really disappointed in how they rushed the story and crammed it all in to 8 seasons, so many other shows with less of a following received 15+ seasons like Supernatural and GoT couldn’t even make it to 10. It’s sad because I feel the show had just started to become super popular around season 4 and then it got wrapped up so quickly, they could of had Cersei be the second to last villain before the walkers suddenly popped up and focused on Daenerys’s conquest of Westeros. I mean they spent how many seasons building up to Dany taking the west and it all happened in one season. Even Robbs war lasted longer. The Walker shouldn’t even have reached winterfell until season 10, and it shouldn’t have been two episodes. It should have been at least an entire season of preparing, and planning before the fight. I mean even the battle of black water bay had a better build up.

Until she died nobody knew who killed joffrey she was smart got her granddaughter to be the one making decisions for the seven kingdoms and to be running tywins grandson. Her house went from nothing to running the seven kingdoms. It was because of the wild fire and Cersei madness that her granddaughter died if it wasn’t for that she’d still be running shit.

@@boobookittyfuck789 Tyrells were one of the seven great houses. Hardly from nothing . Tywin had done a similar thing, his family was viewed as weak before he came to the seat of lord of Casterly Rock. He ran the kingdoms for 20 years, few speak badly of that time period. He played the game as he knew how to. He stopped the Tyrells from getting the North to the best of his ability, defeated Robb in the political side by using his spurning of Fray and his recent fuck up with Karstark to get Bolton on side. He was an asshole, not gonna say he wasn't but to say he wasn't smart simply slaps him in the face. He made mistakes but when it came to the game the only way he could be outplayed was if he underestimated you which doesn't seem all too common.

sink2swim519 Then where did Tyrion get his intelligence? How did he manage to successfully steward the seven kingdoms for 20 years give it peace and plenty? How come he can seemingly remember historical characters from the top of his head. (See scene with Tommen) He is undoubtedly intelligent. But, he was blinded by grief and pride. He believed Tyrion a bastard and he took his one love. Aerys ruined his life and forever scarred his psyche.

Tywin brought to life by Charles Dance was my favorite. When he spoke, everyone listened. He wasn't all that bad-he never gave up teaching dyslexic Jaime how to read and we see him run over to Tommen to cover his eyes so he wouldn't have to see Joffrey's horrible death as any good grandfather would do. I wouldn't say military genius, above good? Certainly, but most of his battles had him at a numerical advantage or simply not at a disadvantage. Most of his victories can be attributed to him as a person and a player of the game rather than any great ability as a commander. His ruthlessness for example is why the Reynes and Tarbecks aren't spoken of along with the fairly simple idea to divert water into the mines, whilst not a genius idea,it is certainly a good one likely coming from his knowledge of the Reyne's history which he was likely schooled on at some point. Plus him rarely if ever being outnumbered can also be attributed to how he played the game.

This linear narration really highlights what a masterpiece asoiaf series. The saying, "villains are heroes of their own story" never rang truer. The only thing that still puzzles me isTywin's stance during Tyrion's trial. He's smart enough to know Tyrion was innocent so why did he let it play out the way it did? Was it a means to and end (of a contemptuous son)? Did he have a last minute switch-a-roo planned? but even so Tyrion would never be a free man in the 7 kingdoms again, hardly a desirable footnote in the Lannister legacy
