gibbs615 Yeah. It was unfortunate. Qui-Gon possessed the wisdom and patience to learn Anakin. Obi-Wan was still fresh and a bit immature. It was more like a duty to him.

Marius Yeah and also Qui-Gon would've been more open towards Anakin like the FATHER he never had meaning he would've given Anakin his freedom & his blessing of his feelings for Padme & possibly going back to Tatoonie to free his mother as he always wanted to do. Obi-Wan was just NOT the one for him cause HE always followed the damn rules of the council instead of following the will of the force as Qui-Gon did! Also Obi-Wan was more like an older brother figure to Anakin than a fatherly figure of a master.

Yeah and my favourite Dooku. Even more disappointing is that they replaced Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen when they should have added Qui Gon as force ghost in Return of Jedi.

Delta kai09 He would've made for a great FATHERLY FIGURE OF A MASTER for Anakin than Obi-Wan ever did! He would've been more understanding about him like his potential, his worries about his mother, his feelings towards Padme & perhaps then he would NOT have fallen for Palpatine's LIES TRICKERY & DECEPTION towards the dark side in the first place!

Despite yoda being hundreds of ages way older than qui gon jinn he was able to humble himself and learn the ways of the force to commune as well as become a force ghost. Maintain his identity after death

Qui gon was practically a grey jedi he often let his emotion control him which is a dark side trait however he was grounded enough not to succumb to the darkness inside him so he wasn't really grand master material and also why he didn't hold a seat on the council.

@@gibbs615 I kind of see Anakin or Vader killing everyone regardless. I think the prophecy of bringing balance required the Jedi to die. Like it was the will of the force. In regard to what you said about Qui Gon it worked for him because he was wise and well grounded however there were those less disciplined that would be suseptable to the Dark side. But this is just my take on it all unless you are George Lucas you can be wrong about Star Wars lol.

I love how Dooku, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Anakin lived at the same time like generations. If Qui Gon hadn't died we could've added Ahsoka to it, heh

It’s a cursed chain of Jedi, Yoda lost Count Dooku to the dark side, Count Dooku fell to the dark side, Qui Gon died, Obi Wan lost Anakin to the dark side, Anakin fell to the darkside and lost Ahsoka and Ahsoka left the Jedi order

The jedi council didn't believe Ahoska Tano when she got framed. That was so shady of them. I felt it for her. The only 3 believed Ahoska Tano is Padme, Anakin and Plo Koon. I know if Jinn was alive he definitely be there for Ahoska Tano and wouldn't leave her side!!

@@angelofrebellion763 or just make a prequel series to the clone wars like same animation etc could even get into why he put so much belief inthe force and trusted it even his training to manifest consciousness after death could go into how and why he was considered sort of a rogue jedi and could setup how dooku slowly fell to the dark side and also even a young obi wan and do the whole insurgency on mandolore etc possibilities are endless

that would explain Vaders change of heart, about hte only real jedi in his eyes was the first one he met, every other one failed him, except for hte one that died for his freedom... i guess obi wan counts too as a freind :P and yoda has a certain level of trusted mentor... and windu is the one he actually failed after he sorta overreacted

@@ziegfeld4131 actually that's mainly a theory (that personally I find should be part of the new canon) as in the legends canon Luke's green crystal was created using the Sith method of creating the crystal synthetically since gaining a natural one was almost impossible due to the empire controlling most of the planets where a natural crystal could be found.

Vader had the same issue, he finally has his daughter safe on a space station, watches tarkin blow up the planet that had been harboring her, and then some crazy smuggler with force awareness leads a old jedi master and a strangely familiar feeling padawan to raid the safe space station he had his daughter on, so they start leaving hair everywhere and thier droid hacks the stations computer while the protocol droid annoys the local staff on the radio as he is busy telling them the odds of thier days ending in a rebel attack, not a very popular radio host, and then they blow up thier garbage chute and disable the safety mechanism that keeps star ships from crashing while docking, and they blast off, with his daughter again, breaking curfew and galactic laws against running from thier dark father, he has a very busy average day, but he always has time to devote imperial navy resources to hunting down his daughter and invading a planet just to bring her back into the safety of hte civilized empire, thiers illegal slavers and bounty hunters out there, he should know, he has to hire them for imperial business from time to time

I love Qui-Gon Jinn! He is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. Every time he is featured in the Clone Wars TV series I squeal with glee! Liam Neeson is freaking awesome!

Qui Gon had another Padawan before Obi Wan. His name was Xanatos and he turned to the dark side. You can read about this in the Jedi Apprentice book #2.

I love how Qui Gon sees something special in even the rejects. He believes in them no matter the faults they have. Obi Wan wanted to move on without Jar Jar and Anakin. Only ends up training Anakin out of obligation to his dieing friend. Qui Gon didn't pass on this quality to Obi Wan.

I don’t think it was quite this. I think Qui-Gon was able to sense something through his mastery of the force that Kenobi just couldn’t feel the same way, at least at the time. Qui-Gon was able to find the chosen one in Anakin, and due to what he felt, he was completely ready to mentor and practically father him. Remember, Anakin was way too old when it came to joining the order. Qui-Gon was accepting a task that the rest of the council saw as impossible, and he even said Kenobi had nothing left to learn from him and that he was ready to move forward as a Jedi. Obi-wan is a good enough man that he does take up his friend and master’s dying wish, but think about that in a real life situation. That’s like taking care of the kid that your best friend adopted. I don’t quite think it was in his cards to all of the sudden essentially raise a child. Jinn wanted the task, Kenobi took on the responsibility. I think he treated Anakin as well as he could while also constantly having in the back of his mind that master Qui-Gon would have his hide if anything really bad happened to Anakin before he was ready to look out for himself. He’s overprotective for the sake of his friend, and then they do develop a real connection more as a younger and older brother. Anakin didn’t need a brother to look out for him. The immaculately conceived child of a single slaver mother needed the father figure that was Jinn. As an oldest brother, I can tell you mind don’t care about what I say whether they know I’m right or wrong 😂

Dooku really did care of Qui Gon, that's part of why he turned to Palpatine, because he was upset over his death. Dooku even did show a bit of sadness in his voice when talking to Obi Wan.

Qui Gon Jinn has always been my favorite Star Wars character and an influence on my personality, especially since he defied everyone who has told him he could not do something, then proves he can do it and get away with it. The Jedi Counsel was flawed and he noticed it right away. To me, he is what a Jedi Knight should be. Side note: It'd be cool to hear him again or see flash backs or easter eggs about him in the third movie, but who knows. Or hell, if they are actually doing a movie on Obi Wan when he left to go to Tatooine by himself, hear his voice there.

Jedi Knight Revan to be fair Qui-Gonn Jinn knee how to calm Anakin. It wasn’t until Palpatine manipulated Anakin after Qui-Gon Jinn’s death that Anakin turned evil. Qui-Gon Jinn made Obi-Wan promise him that he would train Anakin. That doesn’t mean that the Jedi Council didn’t say some hurtful things to Anakin when he was just a boy. Your comment is flawed.

There is a lot of theories out there that if Anakin has been trained by Quigon instead that he would not have fallen to the dark side. That said, he was right when Quigon said he would face his demons and bring balance, for in the end he killed Palpatine.

Thank you for making this. Qui-Gon is my favorite Jedi ever. And no body could ever play him better then Liam Neeson did.

So basically if Qui-Gon had trained Anakin, he probably would have never turned to the dark side.

Qui Gon may not ahve seen it except as a natural result of his failing to raise the chosen one, not realizing that he could die and the chosen one might be raised improperly, he trusted the living force as well as the wills of the force

Qui-Gon sensed the dark side inside his master long before they split, Cunt Dooku played with the thought living the Jedi Order for a very long time since he liked repeating everyone is alone.

a qui-gon film (starring liam neeson of course) where we see his entire life would be AWESOME. seeing him as a padawan under dooku's shadow, learning why he grows distant from the council and the challenging relationships involved, his romance and the heartbreak of losing tahl, his own padawans before obi-wan, his encounters with his own darkness - would be a phenomenal film. *QUI-GON. The Last True Jedi.* or *QUI-GON. The Will of the Force*

I love Qui-gon so damn much and I really hope he get's to come back again in live action form at some point. You can definetly hear him in Rise of skywalker and I love that too but seeing him back physically would just be amazing.

Idk how but this was somehow the most epic KZread video I've watched in a really really long time.

I was always interested in Qui-Gon’s story. I understand why he had to die in episode , and how significant his death was for Anakin’s future. I think Anakin’s life would’ve turned up differently. Maybe he wouldn’t reach out to the dark force and never become Vader. Guess we’ll never know.

I only came across you a couple days ago. I mentioned how good a narrator you are. I realized today that your gift for narration is only half the story (you can groan now). The way you edit clips from vastly different types of media formats, sound tracking, animation styles is absolutely seamless. That lends itself to amazing narration. I have no idea what your process is, but if it were me, I would first settle on the story I want to tell, write a thesis statement and write and outline. After that I would comb through scenes so they follow my outline, do a rough edit, replace the ones that don’t work a few times then work on smoothing out the edit. I would take my outline as I watch what I had produced and use them both to come up with a draft script, the. Clean that up a few times until I felt it met the standards I had set for myself. So, may I ask, what IS your process?? Thanks. Great episode‼️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

You didn't mention that Qui-Gon's first apprentice Xanatos turned to the Dark side. Qui-Gon was reluctant to train Obi-Wan because he felt Xanatos was his great Faliure Like Dooku Xanatos parentage was royal, Governor of Telos IV being of two worlds and full of resentment he turned into an Enemy. Very reminiscent of what would later happen to Vader like history repeating itself.

Qui Gon definitely deserves his own spin-off series.

As usual, a great video. The only thing I like to add is he didn`t disagree with the council for any reason but him believing more in the will of the force.

I'd be like Qui-Gon. I'd play by my own code/rules.
