    Hey sisi, thank you so much for this video 🥰 I have a question please. if you have a diploma and a Bachelor but you're using the Bachelor to apply, should you apostille and verify the diploma as well? The application says to list all tertiary education now I'm wondering if I would have to verify the diploma. Also does that mean I have to pay double with SAQA

    Hey. According to my knowledge yes you should list all of your qualifications but the bachelors is the one that’s bringing you here so its the only one required to be verified. Please Contact the epik office for accurate information. This response is just based on my thoughts

    Hey Zizwe, Thank you so much for this video. I’m trying to apply and I’m a bit unsure of what letters of English education proof are, are those letters I request from my previous schools? Or where do I get them?

  • @zizweunlimited

    @zizweunlimited

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Yes , those are the letters that the schools you attended must write (all the schools you attended from grade 7-12, if you went to different schools, you’ll have to go to all of them. The letter must clearly state the name of the school, your full names, your date of birth, and the years you spent at those school (including the corresponding grades) . It should also include a declaration stating that you were taught in English. The letter must be in the schools letter head and be ink signed. This page will give you a step by step guide: goldkeyeducation.com/proofschoolingletter.html All the best.

    Hi! I just had a screening with Korvia and they told me better to target spring now since I'm still working on tefl and getting letters of rec..do u think i should take the advice or still try..perhaps directly or another agency? Do u think I'll make it

  • @zizweunlimited

    Hey this is a tricky one. If you want to try you’d have to go directly because Korvia is the only epik recruiter. Their advice makes perfect sense. Especially because you have outstanding documents. My process took about 7 weeks (application and visa stuff)but we can’t guarantee the same with you. We also need to keep in mind that we’re about 6 weeks away from August. So you’d have 6 weeks to apply, have the interview, fix your application if need be, send your docs to SK, wait for placement and apply for a visa which can take about 2 weeks. There’s also a week of orientation so you’d only have 5 weeks to prepare. This is why I say their advice makes sense because waiting for the next intake would be a much smoother process since you won’t be rushing stuff. Waiting for the next term would also give you more advantages because the Spring intake is larger and you will apply early so your chances of getting in will also be higher because this is based on first come first serve. So yeah I don’t know what to say to you😂🙈. I want to say if you can get your Docs in hand by this week and you are fully vaccinated (fully fully) then its still worth a shot. But considering the time it’s risky because anything can happen and you can’t afford any mishaps due to time. If you want to apply directly regardless, you can do that because you won’t have anything to lose (provided your things have already been apostilled). If you still have to apostille stuff then the odds are against you coz you might not be able to get your things gathered on time and will have wasted money on expediting. So if you can get your reference letters and tefl this week and your other docs are ready you can give it a shot directly. It’s defs not going to be easy though so you also need to be prepared mentally and financially. Epik still having their applications open means they still have openings but then again, if anything delays then you might be pushed to the next time. Another risk is that, if you drop Epik for whatever reason after you’ve been placed then you will not be allowed to apply for 2 terms which is a year -I’m just sharing my thoughts out loud here and offering the perspectives that there are and things you’d have to consider. Waiting for the next intake looks like the best option at this point. The Epik office is very unpredictable so you can’t rely on someone else’s experience (in this case my experience). I don’t want to give you advice based on my experience or anyone else that I know. I’d be doing you a disservice. All the best with whatever you decide💛

    I think with a Hagwon it’s easier to take risks because there isn’t always a time limit. The public school route is complex because they are dealing with lots of applicants and their processes are complex. I think waiting will be worth it. I don’t know your situation but the applications for Spring intake are opening in August which isn’t so bad. And you’ll start your application soon which will give you peace of mind. You’d have to redo your PCC though because it will have to have a recent date (maybe August 1st or whatever epik decides).

    @@zizweunlimited hey there, thank you SO much for your perspective!! I think I just needed to hear/read that. I know everyone's experience is different but when you put the timeline like that i think it just makes it clear that i should wait. financially it is probably smarter to do so anyway haha since i did think about like oh well what if i do have the docs in hand and then expedite everything but then the outcome isn't what I wanted then that would hurt :( and yeah i have thought about the hagwon route but because it would be my first time i wanted to go the safe route and sign up with EPIK (public sector) first and see how i like it. hoping that basically throughout the year, get to know other ppl and maybe hear about other schools and see if i could kinda move around but obviously that's advanced planning lol I need to make sure i can pass the interview and get that job offer first. anyway i really appreciate you taking the time to read through my comment and responding. it helps a lot even though i of course have to push it to next yr. thanks and maybe i'll see you there hehe :) hope all is well.

    @@jxnel You're welcome. I share the same sentiments with coming via EPIK first. I had moments where I wanted to come via the hagwon route especially when I had all my documents in hand but I'm glad I didn't. I've never had experience with it but I know that going through the public route was the best decision. Time really flies, before you know it'll be August and next thing you're here. Wishing you all the best.

    Sorry, so while I was going through the requirements and all that they mentioned proof of English proficiency... they were really keen about it.... and they hardly talked about the TESOL/TEFl.... so my question is... is it compulsory to have TESOL certificate and someone can do without it
