Losing ranking points if you DNF does make sense. The real problem is that you gain like 3 points by winning and lose over 150 points for DNF.

@@FINDarkside i get what your saying, but if it was real f1 and i dunno, if Ricardo was taking a corner and Grosjean plowed into him diving from a year back, i doubt Ricardo would face any penalties, obviously implementing a system to determine what caused your dnf is likely impossible especially since f1 2019 is coming, but it would be nice to implement something like that.

​@@aaronbarrett4881As you said, it's impossible. And it's still not unfair to get better rating for being able to avoid incidents. And to be fair, this is partly on him too. As you can see Tiametmarduk tried to squeeze him instead of giving him space. When he was ahead of Tiametmarduk, the driver on the first place started to move right meaning that the second one had to do it as well. This resulted in Tiametmarduk and that second guy touching wheels a bit, and there's really no recovery from that since its wet. He didn't turn into Tiametmarduk, this all happened because their wheels touched.

It's an racing incident but Ben has to take blame for that one. The guy had a great start and used the slipstream to get past, logical thing to do. Ben had room on his right, but "decided to give him a squeeze". The TR driver went right so avoid smashing his front wing against the car infront and to overtake Ben. TR probably thought he had more room, which he could've had. Ben literally just pit-maneuvered him.

Not many people would give him the place back. Kudos and respect to you Ben!

Why everyone else have failed to achive "masterrank". Codemasters made it impossible :/

Game mode on Windows 10 is terrible. It tries to figure out which application to prioritize performance for, but sometimes it’ll do things like thinking OBS is more important than the actual game you’re playing. Best to just leave it off, in my experience

They won't sort this out for 2019. Why do you keep believing every year that multiplayer will improve? It won't, play iRacing.

Codemasters cannot make a decent F1 game even if they tried. Too many bugs and instability on PC, they focus on features instead of making the handling decent, the penalties realistic, and the tracks realistic. It's still fundamentally an arcade game.

If I remember correctly safety rating is almost as bad. Slight tap by the guy behind gives me 4x....which is for serious incidents. Need I mention the damage you take when someone takes you out and they drive off when you get 45 minutes of repairs. Don't try and pretend this is exclusive for f1 games. Its every game.

Ben is just too good. If he plays with silver all the time, it will get progressivly harder to improve his ranking, because the game needs to balance the rewards, when you play with worse players. Of course it will not change, if the playerbase does not get better.

@Tiametmarduk As you talk about your lag spikes. I remember some other KZreadrs have the same Issue and it was related to OBS and F1 2018 filling up the RAM on your PC. The only fix is for them was to switch to another Platform like the Xbox or take a second PC to capture the Gameplay.

yeah. that's the online races. I have the same experience with that kind of sh*t issues in project cars 2 online race. bad drivers, no brakes at all, collide with each other. although we already so careful with the other driver but that's it. ONLINE RACE. btw, I support you, Ben.

If you are getting lags at one part of the track the issue may not be graphics, but data leak. I had this problem on F1 2017 until codemasters patched it

hey Ben, long time sub, 1st time poster. @8mins you mentioned using OBS. I can say with experience that OBS absolutely sucks the life out of your pc. Without going into too great of detail outside of DM's, i used OBS for about 6mos. made about 100+ recordings and they were ALL riddled w/ lag spikes, as well as during the recordings. If i could recommend a program, you could try Xsplit. I have had MUCH more consistency w/ this software, though you do pay a premium for the license, it's well worth it. If that doesn't work then I can at least say I tried to help. Cheers, man! EDIT: To add, IF that doesn't work and the lag spikes continue, then it might be time to consider putting together a purpose-built pc. Specifically to run recording software and nothing else. Something i would also be willing to help with, if need be.

@@mikem.3694 OBS is fine for me but I had to find the right settings. Cranking everything up to max turned my PC into a nuclear reactor, turning some stuff down worked a treat. Could see the progressive improvements as I did. Never tried Xsplit.

The way that the F1 games let you cut the chicanes at Montreal is absolutely absurd. Why even show the sausage kerbs graphically if they’re literally not going to have any effect on the car’s handling whatsoever?

Hey ben really important question for the sale of my sanity - that microsoft/xbox setting you changed...what was it? I have identical issues which stop my streams and diconnect me from lobbies after an hour or so. Really sucks because I was at S + gold and then after one race where I DNF'd from the lead, I went to A + silver. Would mean the world if you could get back to me, t.i.a pal.

The ranking system has to work the way it currently does, it’s the only way for things to stay balanced. It’s just like having a high iRating in iRacing - if I have one bad race I’ll lose 150-200 irating, and it’s a pain in the ass to earn it all back. But it’s the only way to keep the inherent balance.

TBF game is kind of poorly optimized, but the current protection it has doesn't help either (generally the version with much less DRM performed about 10% better plus lagspikes were mostly gone, as it was found out by testing). I really want to help you with that if you want, though I'm not sure what else can be done (except that less-DRM executable).

How many cores has your cpu? I'm noticing in the last 6 months the requirement for cores has gone up for games, the "not recording being ok" thing makes me think this could be it. i have to close stuff in some games or i get the same

For the lag spikes: i had a similar problem back then with F1 2012. the reason was my cpu was overheating, maxbe this can help...
