Lol that's so funny 😂 but I think that it may be because of the vultures in trench. The vultures are smt referred to as "trash dragons". The vultures (or trash dragons) can fly above dema and get away. The people of dema envy the vultures. I think that maybe the dragon is a more powerful version of the vultures. As time goes on and Tyler learns more about overcoming his mind, or overcoming dema, he finds more power to break free. In the same way, maybe the dragon is the embodiment of that power. Like we see in the music video where he breaks the bishop ship and sets Tyler and Joseph free.

Maybe Tyler will be “Shaking hands with the dark parts of /his/ thoughts”

If there is a war between dema and the banditos I don't think it's really gonna be win or lose situation. I think the situation will be that the banditos fight as much as they can but ay the end of this "war" there will still be a tint of Dema left within them, kind of like a parasyte thats unable to control over the body. So I think the story is gonna end in some what of a happy ending but with an open ended idea that it is up to us to either conquer our fear and anxiety or just live with them and make the best out of it. Either way I loved this dema story and I can't wait to know what's about to happen in the end.

Twenty one Pilots is unlike any other band ever. I feel so sad for people who don’t know about the lore behind their songs it’s so amazing.

Basically this is what I've thought, too. The reality is we have to learn how to balance or work with our unpleasant traits, so I expect a truce (after a war/battle). I think Tyler really dove into Dema in SAI and learned about these scary things from the inside out, so that there can be an agreement between red and yellow (orange).

I hope the next color scheme is purple, no real reason I just think it'd be cool and it's one of the few colors of the rainbow they haven't done. However more likely it could be orange, as yellow and red mixed together is orange

I came back to look at this over a year later because the new album is drawing near. There are some insightful thoughts here, especially considering this was before The Outside video! Nice work! I follow your work closely and love your coherent thoughts. I have a solution to your proposed dilemma. I agree with you that an all-out war with Banditos "beating" the bishops and Dema is unlikely considering this is not realistic in our own lives. But the problem remains on how this would visually (and lyrically) be represented. I believe at least one video and/or lyrics could show Tyler getting dragged back into Dema periodically, but that there is a much clearer and easier way to escape. This escape would be easy to find, well-lit, be aided by Banditos and maybe even Ned (creativity) and would not have to be as difficult or such a struggle. This would accurately represent how we are all taught (and we all hopefully learn) healthy and positive ways to combat our mental health issues. We all get pulled back sometimes, but we are equipped with the tools to more easily find a way out.

What I think would be a cool visually and have it make sense with not beating stuff like anxiety would them them going to war, Tyler and the banditos fighting the best they can and then, Tyler gets knocked out. The next scene though, Tyler wakes up in some sort of transportation and the banditos are with him and it was basically like he got knocked out and they just got him away from the situation and fled. It wouldnt be a win or lose but a ‘we got out alive, we are still of thin ice but we are alive,’ kind of thing. I think that would also leave room for the storyline to possibly come back, if they ever decided to do that.

Tbf i don’t think the next album will be as conceptually cohesive as Trench, but it will probably provide some kind of semi-closure to the storyline.

i'm just so excited to see where they take it, so many interesting fan theories. was so cool to hear how you relate this music to your own experiences and struggles.

Maybe Dema turns into Together Right Always Sharing Heart? ‘Trash’ I saw someone say maybe he destroys it but what if he Fixes it calling Trash but each letter is something new, positive and good. Like the line in fall away: “It's taking a toll on my soul, I'm screaming submission and I don't know if I am dying or living 'Cause I will save face for name's sake, abuse grace Take aim to obtain a new name in a newer place But my name is lame, I can't walk and I ain't the same And my name became a new destiny to the grave”

Looking at the color wheel, we can see they started off with red and black; green is on the opposite side of red. That is where we get green and yellow. While not on the opposite side of yellow but near it, we find pink, where we get pink, blue, and orange. With that in mind, the only color left is purple. I assume the following color scheme will have something to do with purple.

i think the next album comes out in early 2023, then they take some family time for a couple years. then, the next album (after the Dema finale) will release in 2027-2028.

I wonder if there will be a No Chances video fill like that would be a good video showing the bishops coming for Tyler and Josh. Specially since Tyler has figured out how to take control

I really think that the futur album’s color will be white because the yellow of the banditos is less yellow and because like said Tyler in Car Radio « Peace will win and fears will lose » and the color of Peace is white… Moreover, this lyrics are from Vessel, which is white and the story of DEMA starts on the Vessel page on the Twenty One Pilots’ website

Hi Jake, I have a theory (but don't know if there's any truth to my theory i can't and won't guarantee anything) so i think the next era might have the purple color scheme bc tyler has a PURPLE butterfly on his shirt at some gigs in europe had his shirt and that also leads me to the next animal of the next era, namely the butterfly at the trench era, the eye of the vulture was also shared on social media and that could indicate that the next era animal might be announced in the same way In addition, Debby Ryan had posted a post from her where she was at the pinkpop festival. Her post included a picture of butterflies on it. The special thing about it is that you can see that the butterflies were edited into the picture. Maybe Debby wanted us to do that yes already give a hint what the next era tier will be on the other hand it can of course also be that my theory is wrong but let's just let ourselves be surprised
