Greg, ever since you started making smaller knives, I love your design language more and more. Not only do we enjoy carrying them in our pocket more, We still get that Medford look and style in a smaller package. 💯. Jesus Christ you're dagger OTF looks beautiful.

I get it, everything and I mean everything in this world has an end, no matter what you cant avoid change with enough time everything changes, I think its good so it opens focus on fun new projects, I mean it rocked for a LONG time cant ask for more thnas that :)

Glad to have owned a couple of your tools. Yes the Praetorian is a massive chunk of steel but that’s what made me buy a Medford in the first place! No one else would make a knife built like that! Now I have 6 Medford’s! Slim Midi as my daily!

Love my Praetorian T, never planned on letting it go and definitely won't now. Every time Mick Jagger performs, he has to sing "Satisfaction"... you just broke the mold.

I completely dig the one I have but if you're pausing on the Slim Flipper too.. please confirm either way so I can decide now if I want to add another or hold my breath til I pass out. Sad day...... Probably the best knife out there..... IMHO it's a big mistake.... But who am I? Just a customer who's bought several and planned to buy more..... When you discontinue a popular knife to try and force people to like others or put others into the limelight as you say, it may put a bad taste in customers mouths...but again, who am I? just a customer....... RIP Praetorian.

This is very well said - I purchase with passion and only have knives that provide pride of ownership, Greg as the owner and artist must move his company forward in his vision (of course) but that vision has killed my 2 favorite models - so I am not able to purchase the ones I wish to anymore. In addition, I do not and never have held onto knives from any manufacturer that were discontinued - it’s just a thing for me. So this necessary move by Greg (which I respect), makes me no longer a customer and someone who purchased an iconic knife and coin I no longer want (it’s my problem) but everyone is different. Some folks don’t care and will enjoy their knives - I don’t have that connection with a discontinued knife - so now the amazing piece I am in line for is something I really don’t want.

I just recently got a Smooth Criminal and I'm broke right now, but I eventually wanted a Praetorian slim and a mini. I don't but used, so I guess I'm SOL. Damn.

Smart. Create a FOMO rush on these now. Then bring em back later in limited editions like Classic Coke and capitalize on the FOMO rush II. I’ll buy them now and later too. Carry a midi marauder daily and love it. Right size. Everyone needs to have at least one Praetorian though. Works of art.

Tha slim/gentleman/micro marauder would be nice to see again.

I'm glad I was able to snag a praetorian swift from SMKW for $300 while I could!

I'm not saying it's the worst idea but the praetorian is probably what most knife collectors think of when MKT comes to mind. There are other models that are fantastic but I feel like the company loses a part of its "life" without the praetorian.

Great decision. A historical design for the brand. But yea since then there came a lot of other designs that are a bit more interesting to me. Discontinue things is always good to build up the legend. Maybe the praetorian becomes now more sought after. Personally I dont have one and will not get one. But Im happy about the fighter flipper beeing in my collection.

I'd love to see the infraction with a 3.25 blade and priced like the smooth criminal. I think they'd be very popular.

Not a big deal really. While its a cool beast of a knife, its not really all that useful or practical for folks that primarily EDC a blade. Sure, if I had to cut through a car door, it would be the Praetorian or my Tops Steel Anaconda that I would reach for, but its not really a useful knife in most regards...

Extremely disappointing - I recently ordered and paid for a Ti. Not sure how I feel about this and the brand as a whole right now, I’m not a big fan of change like this. This would be the second of my favorite models sunsetted - for me, it’s time to move on unfortunately.

Not beating a dead horse here - every person is different and I respect and admire you and your company and your decisions however, losing the 2 models I prefer effectively makes me no longer a customer (the knives I want aren’t for sale anymore). The more difficult part is I only own knives (and guns and watches for that matter that i have a connection to). I do not keep and never have kept anything discontinued by the maker - it’s my problem and my issue but it’s how I connect with an object - I do not connect with a discontinued object so this necessary move (that I dearly respect) is a disaster for me. It’s not an issue of “grab the few remaining”, it’s an issue of if I don’t want a discontinued product so the joy and excitement awaiting the Ti is gone (some guys don’t care but I am me and now I find myself waiting for something I don’t want and won’t keep).
