曾经看过一段访问提到周迅小时候会有事没事就在家里阳台看看街道上的人和屋顶上的猫。从小就有这种观察力，所以在一个角色里面她很快可以以最自然最真实的感受表现出来。没错，难过，伤心或是哭的戏很多演员都会制式化统一演法，导致观众才会出现“一号表情”一词。周迅真的很专业而且专精，一丝一毫都没有感觉一种在演的成份。了不起！

I remember the episode when Ruyi found out she was pregnant with princess Jing Ye💖. Cried with Ruyi,she was three and targeted by Jia Guifei, her poor little heart was too weak. 😿 I know it is just a mother and daughter characters but as a mother who shares Ruyi pain. This was one of the many scenes that just grabbed my heart.

@@bchang227 Every King had a harem back then cause they wanted more children to succeed the throne. Especially for male children. Lots of children didn't live long or died very young due to unsafe births and personal hygiene probs. Also, many people married their own cousins back then, which resulted in disabled kids. The main purpose of a harem was for lots of children. The second main purpose was for political reasons. A princess from another country perhaps to join kingdoms. One woman can't give birth to 10 kids easily and ofc can't retain youth. Only one chinese emperor was known to have no harem, but in the end, he succumbed too, to evil women and after his wife died he made his secreat lover a consort.

This is when you have women married for the power of there people and they then use that power to climb the ranks. Mostly this is board woman fighting for the one mans love and having nothing else to focus on. This is the age old love can either help or destroy. Most these women chose to destroy all in the name of love and the one who gave love was not treated well by the emperor. What does it say about him that he loved the fighting more then just love.

Each clan will send they're daughters to give birth to a princes to have dominant power in court. Your clan are powerful if your grandson become an emperor or any female representative of your clan become an empress.

Make women obedient, submissive and devoted to the God-husband, that's the most practical solution, isn't it? If people where so keen on a patrilineal system, they could have easily gone with a cousin or uncle as heir from the deceased emperor's family. Ah! But isn't it simply easier to treat women like cattle/baby making machines by marrying several of them to a single man resulting in several male heirs competing against each other for their godly father's love and affection. Women in this era, especially in higher classes, throughout the world never had any say in their marriage. 'Born in father's family, married to husband's family and taken care in old age by son'; this was the rule. So why are you saying women marry for power? It can be said to be true in today's time, but not back then. Highly patriarchal countries failed to see women as human beings, they were properties and tributes exchanged between families for power, gain and connections. These harem women were simply trying to survive in a male dominated world. The men who made these civilizations, made the rule that only the powerful and influential lives well, so they were simply copying and complying to their superior gender. Several of the atrocities committed by them were mother clan orders, but all we see is a woman putting down a woman for power. Anyway it is always easier to blame the woman.

We love to portray them as catty bitches who couldn't stay harmoniously with their 'sister'wives. Funny! @@ireneinna7109 Okay, from my understanding, apparently she was born with asthma... and a very weak heart, to the point where, while she was growing up, if she got startled at all to the point that she panicked, her heart would straight up Give Out. Being attacked by a dog while everyone around you is freaking out would probably do that. If i had to guess, I'd say the dog scared her, she had an asthma attack, and then panicked, making her heart give out.

If Jia cared about more than herself, Ling couldn't have taken advantage of that. But even after the previous scare of Jingse falling ill because of her dogs and the Emperor telling her to get rid of them, she insisted on keeping that dog, without a care for Jingse. She even mocks Ruyi saying Jingse was useless for dying just because of a dog attack. Jia is a selfish bitch and that bit her in the ass.

这段在内容上其实是有认真在斗 炩妃做局 海兰众人见势助攻拉嘉妃下马就推了一把 纯妃也不想让炩妃党太得意拉出了庆嫔 每个人都有算盘 但是剧本导演和剪辑的处理功力都实在是一般 相比甄嬛传 如懿传的宫斗观感就逊色太多了

Little children were more cherished by this emperor than the fully grown ones

Well, learn Chinese then. You shouldn't be so ungrateful for what is given to you for free. How comes that only those who have English as a first tongue are so rude and prepotent? You can't demand subtitles, at least not in that impolite way.

@@artemisa1523 I enjoy this series; the wardrobe, settings, performances are marvelous, but I cannot understand the storyline when I can't read the subtitles. I'm taking my valuable time to watch this outstanding production, so I would appreciate the subtitles that I can understand. If I asked rudely, it was a mistake. I do appreciate the efforts of all persons who made this show possible. Is there a place where one may watch from beginning to end without a lot of commercials and in English subtitles? Learning thrle Chinese dialect would take more time than I have.😊
