About the entire Disney not giving shit about underrated IP’s I’m shocked you haven’t used the entire “The Owl House got cut short” fiasco. Not just that, but the whole “Motorcity and Tron Uprising” getting cancelled during runtime debacle. Not to mention Tron getting abandoned for the next decade and a half of its life.

@@wakspacific6928 You make a good point, especially since after Disney axed Tron due to gaslighting themselves into believing that Sci-Fi does not make any more money thanks to Tomorrowland underperforming, they still went on to milk Star Wars dry.

@@platy4700 Motorcity was cancelled for the same reason, it came out around the same time Iger purchased Star Wars, despite being made to create a Cars-ish racing franchise for older audiences. If you’re into original yet great Disney stories, I highly suggest you pirate this or TOH. Before you ask, Legacy is underrated IMO.

I think I know why: During the 2000's-early 2010's, IP-Driven films meant to start a new movie franchise either were financially or critically poor (Dragonball Evolution, Percy Jackson, John Carter, or The Last Airbender). Even with movies like Speed Racer, Scott Pilgrim, or Tron Legacy now having cult fandoms, their critical and financial reception wasn't great during release. Some filmmakers are scared of new ideas because they have a risk of losing money.

The Emoji Movie is one of those films that somehow gets WORSE overtime. It was dead-on-arrival back in 2017, and it's aged like a rotting corpse.

The only good movies to do an advertisement were the original Space Jam and The Lego Movie. Both of them which were distributed by Warner Brothers.

It’s astonishing how SPA went from this to Spider-Verse, but what’s even more surprising is that Tony Leondis directed this trash after directing the magnum opus of cinema known as Igor (2008).

Ngl, my favorite joke of the movie was the part where Gene fucking dies in candy crush. That was funny.

You know, my favorite movies are usually the ones made out of passion. To tell a story. To show the director’s talent. To show the person’s skills. That’s why I love films like Wolf Children, Pacific Rim, Back to the Future, even Speed Racer despite some of its aged CGI. They were all passion projects first, money second. Movies like this, The Transformers Movie Franchise sans Bumblebee, The Last Airbender, most sequels to nostalgic films, and every live action Disney Remake ESPECIALLY MULAN, kill creativity. Limiting artistic potential.

yeah, i like to say that too many movie makers think that flashy special effects are ALL it takes to make a movie good.

Here’s another plot convenience: Notice how during the factory reset, the apps on the outside get deleted before the inside? Well it’s pretty convenient that the text app was in the center. If it was anywhere else, the Emojis probably wouldn’t have enough time to save themselves.

Fun fact: This movie was the first animated movie ever to win four razzie awards for worst picture, worst director, worst screen combo and worst screenplay.

This movie and Disaster movie are my two least favorite films ever made and I honestly can’t decide which one is worse.

26:39 don’t forget dreamworks has been bought by universal and is making money by doing nothing too.

If there’s one voice actor/actor I cannot stand and that’s TJ Miller it’s the same role everytime a smug arrogant and ignorant asshole hell as much as I love the how to train your dragon trilogy tj millers character is my least favourite character say what you want about Chris Pratt at least he’s funny half the time my response to tj miller is basically what Fred says in SpongeBob OH BROTHER THIS GUY STINKS

I honestly feel like the hate towards Chris Pratt is a bit too harsh, just because some celebrity is a Christian doesn’t mean they are like Mel Gibson. To compare Pratt to Gibson is laughable to me Also yeah, the only huge problem I have with the first Cloverfield movie other than the girlfriend plot is T.J Miller alone

While I've seen worse, this might be the best review of the film I've seen.

If I have to recommend any movie for you to check out sometime to wash the foul taste of this movie away, I think it'd have to be Kirby Atkins' Mosley. I think it only comes second to stuff like Kung Fu Panda.
