The way the sketch ended with crying had me lol. This was really fun. Morgan’s wincing when Rita hit the cue card was priceless.

I went "Awwwww, my poor little Judy, don't cry, honey," at the end lol

Poor Marcello--never got a break, poor guy!

That was so funny...... Rita as the director trying to redo the scene with this 'incompetent' actress for the lines she was supposed to remember, but she always forget.. I remember it was so funny! Makes me remember the funny conductor scene when the conductor repeatedly indicated that 'This is NOT the right NOTE' to the tuba player.

"Mimsie get it, I am starving!"

It was from sketches like this, that I developed an affinity for Benny Hill's "bloopers" sketches.

Aw, I felt bad when Mimsy started to cry. (Even though it was funny as well!)

I wonder where they all are now. I know Luis Avalos, Jim Boyd and Lee Chamberlin all passed as some others. I’ve always wondered what happened to all the members of the Short Circus...

Short Circus members Allison(actress Denise Nickerson) and Dwayne (Gregg Burge) have also passed on, sadly enough. Trivia: (speaking of Allison), she had joined Electric Company this time 50 years ago, replacing Iris(played by Irene Cara), when Season 2 began(fall 1972; it’s October 2022 as I make this post.) Denise had recently done Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory at the time, playing Violet as everyone knows.

@@MrJamieMurph4141969 Great info; thanks. I was told from a set related "source"as they say, why Iris / Irene Cara was gone after the first season but I was told that virtually nobody else knows. But the reason makes sense to me. Then as many know, she ended up with Sparkle, Fame, Flashdance acting and / or songs.

Irene Cara was part of Short Circus in The 1st season. She passed away in 2022😭.

I know this isn't all that relevant, but Skip and Judy both look very attractive in this sketch.

I remember the Director segments. I'd lose it too in her shoes. I'd be terrified as Morgan Freeman too. Those poor cue cards deserve better.

I guess Rita can get something to eat now. Could I go out a date with you Rita? Thank you very much for your input.

Mimsie was the kitten you see at the end credits for Mary Tyler Moore or any MTM production: Bob Newhart, Rhoda, Hill Street Blues, etc.

Skip and Judy really seemed to have great chemistry together on The Electric Company. Especially in their respective roles as JJ and Winnie, dating on the show, as well as Mark(Morgan) and Brenda(Lee), in first two seasons. Kind of like David and Maria on Sesame Street.
