As someone who's played since launch and has their fair share of criticisms of ESO, I gotta say I absolutely love the Endless Archive. I hope it's expanded upon in future updates.

Just came back to ESO on PS5 after a very long break. Im 115 hours in and just barely scratching the surface. Going from gettin wrecked in BGs as fresh lvl cap to being decently geared and doing well felt like a real accomplishment. The game has so much to offer it is truly insane, all the different class builds and sets. Group or solo play is satisfying. Crafting/scrying, world exploration, the game has it all. I will easily spend another few hundred hours playing and building fun set ups.

Wait until you buy your first decent house in ESO, and you realize you can spend few hundred hours more just decorating, getting crafting stations, getting training dummies, etc etc.

I redownloaded ESO after your last video. This time I'm using a controller and first person and enjoying it much more than before.

Let us hope they do Torgast better than Blizzard did.

Looks cool, but I've never been able to get into the combat. It just feels bad, imo

The combat is definitely dated compared to newer MMOs but when it released it was decent. My main problem with the game is that it has like a 15 DLCs you need to buy to have all the content. Sure there’s the subscription that gets you all the previous ones, but never the current one.

You can clearly see that the 'Ladder' rogue-like game modes are the popular thing in games these days. Happy to see ESO doing the same because i already loved the tower dungeon in FF14.

in regards to porting in u can travel in from a wayshrine for free, unlike some places u dont need to "find" it first b4 u can travel to it from a wayshrine

Haven't played ESO since Greymoor launched. I might have to check this out.

Please, can someone answer? I haven't played in like 6 years, and my level is kinda low but this game mode seems interesting. My question is, when i join this game mode, all levels are set to 1 without skills? and can we skill up and build our character every new game in this game mode? Or do we need to have a character build then join the game mode? I want to play with some friends that never played before, and jump right into this mode and every game be a new experience, a new build. Reseting progressiong after a loss, like any other roguelike game.

Trust me, ESO right now has so much things to do, even as someone who have played ESO since 2014, i still haven't even touch a single content of Necrom at all since i am still doing older zones. For new playes, i suggest take the time to enjoy ESO!

fully voice acted quest are so good side quests are random and actually have great stories i really enjoy it elder scrolls has tons of lore so its nice being able to explore the whole world and uncover secrets@@Butterb0ne

There is no animation cancelling. They removed that skill gap because of people who suck at PvP and complain 😂 This is a reason the game died.

I wanted to get this game so I installed through game pass. Played 3 hours, disconnected from server and when I wanted to log back in my character was gone, any ideas if this a common issue?

Really happy you take these promotions. Im allready really sad when i hear games "die" due to playerbase dropping to levels where it impacts gameplay so much that it basicly shuts down. These promotions help keeping old blood going :)

This is one of the flaws of a live service/online only game. They can just stop maintaining the game the moment the game dies.

It’s because they payed him to advertise ESO. He doesn’t really care for it.

Sure wish they'd find a way to make the PC update system on Steam either continuous or make big jump patches so that it doesn't take longer to update after a long time away than reinstall the game. I can always get playing in an hour. Maybe it would end up taking the same amount of time, but something about uninstalling it just doesn't feel good and I just find something else to do, regardless of what originally piqued my interest to try it again. I also got pretty used to playing with mods, which is its own maintenance nightmare.

The weapon system in this game killed it for me, every class feels the same to play and gets boring very quickly. Tried to get back into this game about 4 or 5 times and every time I quit becuase of the weapons being bland and feeling exactly the same no matter the class you playing, wish it was more like GW2.

sadly it's true. Especially now that everything is hybridized. No matter if you use stam or magicka skills 'cause they scale the same now which makes the game way easier to play (which it really didn't need to get even easier) and destroys class identity. Few years back at least you were forced to use staves if you play magicka character and use melee weapons if you're a stamina character and now it doesn't matter. Even if you're magicka, you use melee weapon 'cause it's just better

I gotta say, to me it actually sounds fun that as a magicka character I don't have to use staves. I remember wanting to play a magblade, but with daggers which was just not going to work. But I do agree that the weapon skill lines, among others, kill the class identity. @@fenharel2137

What, you don't like the fact that no matter what class someone is playing they'll be spamming Dizzying Swing and then Executioner as an execute?

Havent tried it, but I think this is a great idea!! Way to look at whats working across gaming and implement it into your game!

Base game is on sale for 6 bucks. I'm going to give it another try and hope it can give me a nice lite mmo rpg on my PS4

ESO seems to be releasing new content all the time. If they stopped that and used dev time to improve the core systems like the combat I bet they would be a lot more successful. It seems the only think they want is to continue to milk the players that put up with it rather than attracting new ones.

Reminds me of FFXIV's Deep Dungeons. Randomly generated rooms with various mobs that change across the floors and get stronger and stronger to the point where mobs become mini bosses. but its 1 actual boss every 10 floors but it does give various buffs and debuff cleanses that you can accumulate the deeper you go. Not saying this is the same as that but it is nice that ESO is doing their own thing.

Using mechanics from another game isn't a bad thing. If its a good mechanic and implemented well, its great for the gamers. Personally, I haven't played this yet, but it seems so much better than FFXIVs Deep Dungeons. Those deep dungeons are incredibly boring

Id say this game is quite underrated for the amount of content it has and the fun it offers

Can the Endless Archive be done immediately with a new character? 'Cause I don't have an existing one, and it sounds really fun! I've really been falling for rogue-lite genre, and I love Elder Scrolls.

I used to play this with a group of friends a few years back. We all stopped playing because of the combat. The exploration was amazing and beautiful, which was and is my favorite part of the game, but the combat simply isn’t fun. Playing a ranged character is okay, but not up close and personal.

Is it worth getting back into? I haven’t played in like a year

ITS still in, and its a HUUUGE turn off to play the game. Game is also brain dead easy.

Finger crossed the menu system makes sense.

Ring of Pale order will come in handy very nicely.

Sooo it's Torghast, I hope it has more longevity than how Shadowlands handled that because we know how that went

Hermaeus Mora is My Favorite Daedric Prince, because once you prove yourself worthy of his knowledge, he actually makes you POWERFUL... unlike the other Daedric Lords who send you on inane missions for weak weapons you don't even want anyways. (talking Skyrim here) But I do have a soft spot for Sheogorath, cause he's Funny, and Insane.

I use to play this game a lot from 2016-2018 before I snapped out of the loop. It just wasn’t fun when everything is locked behind a pay wall. PvP was really fun on this game with giant battles at its peak

No it's not. 2017 was peak. The devs just kept nerfing and killing things. Performance got worse. They REMOVED animation cancelling and all PvP uniqueness.

i downloaded the game for the first time since the game came out, i never really got into it but i want to now and i just got no idea what to do to to get started

It's really funny how much content ESO has added over the years, yet it's never added a new playable race or weapon type since launch.

Too much time, too much money, too much shit that is these days onobtainable or atleast without paying tons of money 😑 yeah no thanks. I already had my funeral for ESO, got other games to keep me busy.

Huge. If you go with a basic pve setup you will get destroyed.

It's pretty cool of them to NOT add this behind a pay-wall, but at the end of the day it's still ESO combat, which is the worst in the industry, and I wouldn't touch it even if they paid me.

Ik hope they add responsive triggers in the game for ps5...

This game needs Graphical/Texture revamp. its to "wooden/stiff" for modern standards. They need to repeat same thing that Guild Wars 2 did and do, updates part by part for better textures, animations, effects. better resolution etc.

I really enjoyed this game. I hope they update the graphics. I also enjoyed LOTRO but it looked so dated.

As a Tank... Spamming Taunt as part of the Tanking rotation is not fun...

I think most people hated Torghast because it was a required weekly grind to be able to get your legendary. If it was just a fun side piece of content with collectibles/transmog and actually had infinite floors with a leaderboard, I think people would feel a lot different about it.

The only thing surprising about this game in 2023 is how bad the lag still is.

I have so much respect for the love that has gone into this game. They could 100% have justified giving up on this MMORPG because of how bad it felt at certain points. They truly do LOVE this project and you can tell. I have tried ESO MANY times and absolutely FEEL the love in this game. I personally can not play it very long due to not enjoying the combat, but I have more respect for this studio and game than even ones I spend more time playing.

ESO still has 1 of my favorite combat system. Sure, the animation doesn't feel great, but in raids, cyrodill or endless, that's the least of I care about. The combat is mechanically challenging. It's face paced, require precise input and a lot of background numbers to keep my eyes on.

I've had this game since launch, and after the first year, I kind of lost interest in it. I installed it every couple of years to try it out again, but didn't like it over and over... About 4 months ago, I installed it again, and have been heavily addicted to it ever since. LOL It feels so much better now. The only thing I really have to complain about now is, that the chaining of the creatures and NPC's is cheap feeling, where it would be a lot more fun to try to pull individual NPCs and creatures using strategy, rather than trying to get the attention of just 1, and the whole mob comes, even if they aren't even within range of being aware...

it's kind of core mechanic in most rpgs as i understand, im not so aware how it is in eso, but in wow, it takes lot of skill to do mob pulls and thewre are certain tricks to get one from the pack. Like pulling them with movement vs pulling them with attack.

@@markov622 Agreed, WOW was and still is the best MMO at using the threat mechanic with it's strategic mob pulls in dungeons. However, the best NPC/Creature awareness and pulling without linked chains, was by far Darkfall, as it was based on individual NPCs/Creatures line of sight, AND their hearing. So you could try to only pull 1 at a time when they weren't so close to each other as they moved around in random paths and hung out with each other. Was awesome to try to sneak up behind a rock, and try to get the attention of only 1 of the mob, and getting him as far out of sight and hearing range from the others to fight it. Took some effort, but was a fantastic feeling and gameplay. It's just a shame that griefers and cheaters destroyed that game...

god I wish this had servers for Australian players, I love the ES universe and lore and have played the shit out of all ES games including ESO, used to pay the the subscription for a longgggg time, then gave up on the game just after Elsweyr even though I enjoyed that. The ping just ruins the game and it's not smooth at all :( I'd go back in a heartbeat if I was able to get a good latency

Was my favourite mmo BUT : The fact most of the time you have absolutly 0 difficulty except for the DLC content is soooo booooring I couldn't immerse in this beautiful world 👴 The other TRAUMA is the fighting music which you can't disable and well... mix really bad with the tiny and dense maps 🦻 And the third problem is : The game offer infinite personalistion through tones of armor and effects... but most of them just sux really hard and if you want to have fun you will also have no DPS 🐸

The movement feels weird in eso, the armors look like they are made from rubber and have 0 character - just like the amount of meshes, and the worse part is that a lot of stuff is locked by dlcs. I wanted to like this game. I started it like 4 times. But its just not for me.

I started eso again two days ago after about a year (will probaly play for a few days for the itch), eso is VERY far from perfect but it hits different than most other mmos. (Eso mobs too easy tho) During the break the main mmo I've played or tried to play was wow retail on and off as a newer player and its so fkn boring to level that I'm burned out at my record lvl 45 (I started in bfa). The open world is not immersive at all like in eso, wow is just a walking simulator from quest to quest for the most part. Im convinced people play it out of nostalgia. Combat is boring and outdated. I hate the wow combat formula and I cant bother to play other mmos that use it (ff14, gw2) Just wanted to ramble a bit before I sleep, as I wait for an actual good mmo to come out.

I wish they didn't charge for every single update in this game, surprised this was free. Expansions I understand charging for, but everything else? Kind of weird.

Combat is shit. People say “you should learn how to animation cancel for combat” the thing is if players are telling you to learn a niche skill that the game developers don’t want you to do, then then combat is still bad. If the developers wanted you to animation cancel, they would make it simpler by either removing animation times or telling you how to do animation canceling properly.
