The Elder Scrolls Lore: The Bosmer | Wood Elves

The Bosmeri people, otherwise known as Wood Elves, come from the province known as Valenwood, in the South East of Tamriel. Valenwood is a densely forested nation, and Bosmeri culture reflects every aspect of it, down to their hunting and archery skills, as well as their established law known as the Green Pact, which prevents any harm done to plant life. This video discusses their likely origins, their culture, their history, and how they are perceived across Tamriel by the other nations and races.

    Hi everyone! Thank you all for your great patience as this was quite a late upload, I had gone on a bit of a vacation for the summer and didn't get much time to upload or work on this, I had planned to upload this prior to my vacation but unfortunately I was pressed for time. Again thank you all so much for your patience! I greatly appreciate it, and have a wonderful morning/ day/evening!

    That's awesome, it's always good to see that gaming isn't something limited to kids or teens. My ex wife(emphasis on the "ex") used to try and make me feel like shit for playing it since(this was 4-5yrs ago) I was around 24-25 yrs old and despite being a Soldier(where just about all of us played games, even some of the Dinosaurs in my unit) at the time, treated it like it made me less of a man or some bs.. God that would piss me off.

    its probably just not the right location for a core TES game unfortunately. For a mainline game, Bethesda likely wants to stick to familiarity and more traditional European fantasy settings with humans and stuff. Valenwood is mostly dense forests and wood elves which would feel too foreign to many I think. I think TES6 is probably going to be a combination of both High Rock and Hammerfell so they can get a nice mix of cultures and more variety of geographic regions.

  • @zonesquestiloveunderworld

    @zonesquestiloveunderworld

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@Joshcoshbagosh Nah, they're gonna get around to it eventually. By the time the series is over we will have visited every province in a mainline game. Otherwise that would mean TES6 would be the final game, which I *seriously* doubt to be the case. They're not gonna revisit Cyrodiil or Skyrim a second time. 6 may be Hammerfell and High Rock but after that there's still the four southern provinces. I think they've saved them for last deliberately since their environments will be the most graphically and technically challenging compared with the more familiar northern provinces. I'm sure we'll probably visit Akavir, Pyandonea and maybe even Yokuda at some point too.

    Exceptional video. You have a great narrative voice, well spoken and articulate. It couldn't have been easy doing all of this research, and as such, I thank you for all of the time and effort you put into this video. I subscribed after watching this, my first video of yours. I look forward to viewing your other videos and future ones yet to come. Well done.

You've done a service to the world-building of this realm for those who arrive and are overcome with expanded content and just want to relive old D&D days while exploring within their skill set. This keeps them around... and I dig that. Be patient, friends and feel free to ask for help from others as this is a great game for long-term play. #eso #worldbuilding #lore

    Dude, is hard to create a good looking elf in elder scrolls, like, normally in RPGs and DnD stuff, elfs are like, the most beautiful Race, dont matter what kind of elf, they are the Afrodite of the genre, not in TES, for some REASON they look like crackhead aliens xD Its so funny

    @@vinicinfodexota5083 I love how the Mer look in the Elder Scrolls, I hate when they look like pretty people with pointed ears, Elves in ESO look like that and look way lamer to me than the unique and more alien appearance in lore.

    As a long time fan of the Elder Scrolls, and Fantasy in general, I wished to say Thank You for this presentation and synopsis. Good details and epic artwork make it a pleasure to listen to and behold. Many people are drawn to Wood Elves all over the globe, since it gives us a link to factual history, where many of us have even lived a long time ago in such environments. Reincarnated in the present, it is no wonder many of us feel an affinity to such "fantasy", which, in and of itself, is never really far from the truth ;) Whether this was created 4 years ago, 10, or just yesterday---- Good Job! We are lovers of Nature and balance! May my elven type folk, live on Always in heart and soul!

    First - love your voice and your videos. Very soothing voice and the way you present the information is delightfully charming and enjoyable. Second - This changes how I look at Bosmer. Especially since in my current run I have been playing a hunter gatherer alchemist who has had the misfortune of becoming a vampire and chose to join the companions to trade one curse for another. I suppose now I can have a sort of redemption arc for the guy... have him only use materials in alchemy which don't come from plant life and work towards getting rid of his lycanthropy.
