The Elastic Band - рок-группа,основанная в 1960-х годах в Северном Уэльсе. Одним из участников её был Энди Скотт,который впоследствии стал гитаристом Sweet. Другими членами группы были:Тед Йидон,Шон Дженкинс (ударные) и Майк Скотт (бас - брат Энди).Группа распалась в 1970 году,когда Йидон принял предложение вступить в Love Affair.

Cheeky Andy Scott. Loves the camera even here. Almost looks like a young Nick Cave. He grew hot long 70s hair and turned into sexy guitar master of Sweet. Still rockin'. Hard to believe he's over 70 now. And this clip was done the year my parents married. Blows my mind this footage and other clips like it surface on youtube.

Don't get me wrong, this is a catchy little tune, but Andy Scott had to have felt liberated after joining The Sweet just a short time later!

And I'm back 4 years later to say, the funny thing is, my thinking was "damn, I bet Andy must have LOVED being with a band he could rock his ass off in" and then he turns around and writes "Love is Like Oxygen". A song I LOVE, by the way. He also wrote 'Lady Starlight'

This should have been a hit. It appeared on an ITV drama called Mr Rose, unusual in that the latter was hardly pop culture, about a retired police office played by William Mervyn (1908-1976) who was sixty, balding with a plummy accent .Hip he wasn't!
