    I got into electric bikes because I was considering getting a knackered 125 motorbike and turning it into an electric one. My mates poured water on it by saying how hard it would be on the legal side. I saw your video on getting your bike registered and it's cleared a lot of points up. I would love to do what you have with this bike it looks like absolute fun. I have rode motorbikes for over 40 years and it's been a long time since I enjoyed such a video and indeed such a concept. I have kept most of my ebikes down to 250w because as time goes on, the police will twig on to people tweaking them up and it will be harder to get away with bigger watts. Thanks for posting and all your hard work. Safe riding.

    Well done Andy, looks amazing. Why not just undo one crank and swing it around so its facing the same way as the other side and then at least your feet will be on the same level. They will naturally drop to the bottom and you can easily convert back if you need to.

    Mate, so cool, really made up for you, can't even attempt to understand, the feeling of elation that you must of had when you received that, you showed everyone it can be done, funny you.seemed to be carrying on the narrative we started the other day, especially the hard to find pedal to pegs conversion kit, it's the bit of kit that really should be mainstream and easy to get, straight from China, we should really to try and fix that, it seems such a simple thing that would make a lot of people's rides sooooo much more comfortable, once again amazing job, Best Regards Ashe.

    How to you sit on that seat i just got mine after being on back order for 4 months and i dont seem to sit in the middle of seat because its realy uncomfortable. Andy if you deside to expand your battery you could always throw the controller under the rear seat or mount it to the downtube on the bottom like mine im currently thinking throwing it down on the seat at some point if i keep the motorcycle seat. And if your wondering how much battery you can fit in there you could fit without controller easy 50-60 ah with liitokala cells i have 35ah in mine there technically is room for the controller but its cramped and with me haveing to pull the battery in the winter every ride i just Decided not to put it inside insted took the Side fins down on my bandsaw and then stuck the controller inside an aluminum box with some heat pads just to keep the water directly off my controller. It fits nicely almost even with the bottom of frame now

  • @Destide
    @Destide2 жыл бұрын

    1hp is generally 0.746kW. Moped licence as covered by that AM cat moped licence is 4kw or below two-wheeled vehicle with a maximum design speed of 45 km/h (28 mph). CBT if your 17+ gives you 11kw as far as I know there isn't a top end speed limit for these which is why the 2 stroke sports bikes were so popular in the late 90s early 2000's a bit like electric they just had massive torque curves throughout the band and would get a 17 year old weighing 10 stone up to 75-80mph or 90-100mph when telling your mates.

    Very informative video. Glad you got a result. I think insurance could be more emphasised. The bike has to be road legal to get 3rd party damage and injury insurance. If you de-restrict it and injure someone then you wouldn't be insured. You make things seem too simple. Your viewers don't realise the power in lithium batteries. Mine are just 36V. 10 to 13 AH.. but I treat them with respect. I don't like them in my house. Sorry negative reply but I know people who ride illegal ebikes and think it's not big or clever. I got a full bike/car licence...I'm 67 so years since I rode a motor bike but they where deadly as fast ebikes.

    How fast do they let you ride on a moped in the U.K.? You need a motorcycle license to ride a moped in California and are allowed 30mph. It's tricky if even possible, getting a homebuild registered as a moped in the states--you need a manufacturer vehicle id#. Sun Ron's have a serial # that works. But you can go 28mph with just a helmet and a regular CA driver's license in California, but you must give right of way to faster traffic and cannot take the lane with other traffic around.

    I would looooooove to see an internal type-2 charger, even if its sub 3.6kw charging speed, at least it'sd be easier to charge in public.

    Love it Andy! I was also the first road legal electric motorcycle conversion to be registered in South Africa. It's not easy getting them legal. Welcome to Africa! 😂 Wicked back track what do you use for your music? From the electric Yamaha FZR channel.

    What's with the dislikes? Wtf is there to dislike in this video? Smh. Anyway, thanks for the video. It would be great if you organised/separate a playlist just to do with this ebike.

    Interestingly i am on Eskateboard that does 30mph 10miles distance ..250W X2 total 500W Hub motors and 7ah ....replaced the deck However i have only taken up to 24mph and wont be doing that again ..it scary on skateboard at that speed ....ideal 15-20 mph is what can safely take it to with out wobble but about 90% my riding is on pavements about as fast as i could sprint ....there reason for that because you can slam breaks on stay on at that speed and if you fall at sprinting speed you can run out so it not as bad ......But yea there is risk of course ......I would not recommend them to people that have never skateboarded .....however skateboard is safer than Scooter ...the reason been type person uses skateboard is often a good rider because it not easy ...however scooter riders dont bail dont know how and when they do they hang on to bars as tight possible and makes the fall twice as hard ......and i do have elbow pads gloves and BMX helmet .... E transport is everywhere in london ...i spot at least 3-8 of them every ride ...i get seen by police alot enough they recognize me .....Very few people ride skateboard with BMX helmet so i am eye catching .......only reason ive not been pulled is i keep my speed slow and sensible and avoid roads ...if they see me on road with Eskateboard they will for sure pull me over to speak The feeling of Eskateboard is Magical ...like wizard on magic carpet going up hills is a different kind of buzz where feel like your cheating the matrix I am currently looking towards Ebike next ...possibly DIY ..aim for speed of 22mph as i feel like 18-22 is ideal speed that with good safety gear the risk is manageable when done sensible ...been London all about ally ..parks ..cut through canals and back roads ..so u dont need speed you need stealth ...if smart get all way through london very stealthy as i do on skateboard ...Roads in London Lethal ...you only use back roads you know well and rest time slow pavements ...fast cut through and ally and parks ...even the cycle lane in places is even worse than the roads ...avoid them all the time :D
