I have not tried fair isle knitting in over 25 years because my tensioning is terrible. This way of wrapping the floats makes me want to try again. Thanks.

Just yesterday I knitted a small Fair Isle square in what I called Starry Sky, and though I've done Fair Isle before, this was a huge struggle. Your system of floating is SO GOOD, I'll try again with your technique. THANK YOU!

Thank you, Carolina. This was fascinating! I can tell you that I will be watching this a few more times when I'm ready to practice fair isle. I'm eager to jump into it but, I've been trying to work on getting comfortable knitting socks. I haven't quite reached the point of adding fair isle sock patterns just yet but, I have been wanting to try knitting fair isle Christmas stockings for many years so, that's what I'm working towards. I'm wanting to try one with more of a stitch sampler style too. You've shown me so many beautiful new stitches to use that I know I'll be busy making for a while. 😊 If not Christmas stockings then hats, scarves and maybe mittens. 😘 Many thanks and lots of love & appreciation, Carolina! ✌️💜🧶

Hi Christie, I'm fairly new to knitting. I just bought some sock yarn and ordered 9" circulars online. I can make beanies, I'm working on my first shawl but have not tried socks yet. I just did a swatch of this tutorial and it went okay for this beginner. I'm sure you'll do great.

@@dragonkat1868 awe! Thank you.😊 I crochet too, since I was about 5 years old. With both crochet and knitting I've always got quite a few projects going at once but, I decided (at the start of this year) that I needed to focus on really getting comfortable knitting socks. It's kind of fiddly in some sections and the stitches are much smaller (my eyes aren't quite what they used to be, lol). I'm also trying to use up the sock yarn from my stash as they all seem to have been discontinued (huge bummer). I had mostly single 50g skeins for making fingerless mitts so, all my socks are short socks right now. Of course, my mind is always distracted by the beautiful new stitches and techniques I'm learning from our wonderful teacher, Carolina. Wishing you a wonderful adventurous journey along the beautiful road of stitching. You have so many beautiful creations in your future. 😊✌️💜🧶

My mom taught me to crochet in the mid nineties (ish) I was in my early thirties now I'm teaching myself to knit via tutorials like carolinas. My eyes aren't as good as they once were either lol. Take care, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

Pretty pattern and so simple using the chart. We've had a few drops of rain and thunder but very humid. Bit early for any serious rain. Thank you so much for this pattern, will make a lovely scarf.

I love knitting fair isle in the round and as you get used to it, you can just carry the second colour along in your left hand like knitting European style. 😊

Yep, this is what I do (I knit both, English and Continental styles), but for many knitters, carrying the yarn in the left hand can be difficult 😉
