The EASY way to design for multiple screen sizes in After Effects | Free Template
som.bz/42TyAR3 ⬇⬇ Download the free After Effects template here! ⬇⬇ Life used to be simpler. Screens were 16x9 and that was that. Now, we've got 16x9, 1x1, 9x16 for chrissakes! Do we need to design everything 3 times!?!?
Luckily, Sara Wade is here to tell you how she designs once, and delivers thrice. And, there's even a free After Effects template in it for ya.

This is the definition of "work smarter not harder"!
This is great, I have been using pretty much the same template for my past work, for social media ads, it's a huge time saver for sure! Another great tutorial!
Loveeeed it! Been looking for something like this foreverrrrr! Thankssss
LITERALLY NEEDED THIS RN
This is brilliant thanks Sara! SoM on that daily video tip now??! Loving this! 🖤🥂
This is pure gold, thank you.
This is such a powerful social media motion hack, I am going to start designing everything with this in mind!!! Thank you so much!
So useful! Thanks!
This is fantastic!!! After awesome tip from SOM!!! 🥰
DUDE. You content realy helpful. It something new every time
BRILLIANT!
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing :)
The script "Smart Resize" at aescripts helps makes creating multiple aspect ratios easy if this method isn't feasible for a project.
Brilliant, thanks!
Oh super smart Sarah, thanks for sharing
Thank you!
thank u helped me a lot
thank you! ❤
Great tips 👌
this is pretty sick !!! 👍👌
Thank you for this! Super cool video! A+++
Thanks 👍
Thank you
Really really cool 🆒
Esentail properties are a godsend for this stuff too. Creating one "Design comp" where you animate everything then all the properties you need to alter mostly position and scale chuck in EP.

PREACH! 🙌
Holy $h!# this is amazing!! I'm a little ashamed that I didn't think about working this way with social media content!
life saver no cap
Alternative names (but yours is already solid) : "Social frame size blueprint", or "Social blueprint".
I'm struggling with getting this possible in Premiere. Any tips here?
How do you make the guide layers?
There was no download email after I entered my email. Did it twice. Still nothing.
Wait, what if I'm not getting the download email? I submitted twice
In essence, the majority of responsiveness for social-ready design comes from comp/width ratios of elements placement. With exceptions, when items starts overlapping onto each other. Having guides is nice starting point to have, but it does not help in responsiveness itself - just gives boundaries to fit design to. Thus, with proper organisation of things in animation phase and linking everything to nulls, which will make that switch for you, close to no framing or manual repositioning is actually needed. In order for them to flow & wrap - its just that simple.

Would be nice if we could just download the file instead of subscribing to an email. Tried multiple times but email never gets through! Even checked my spam.
Hey guys! Cracking video. I’ve tried to sign up to get the template but I don’t seem to get the email, is this still available please? Checked junk mail.
i have SO been wondering how to do animations in multiple sizes like this! But with some of our stuff with more text, I'm not sure it will work for a lot of what we do, but could be helpful for some simple projects.

yes, the designs that I made have a lot of text, it's a nightmare!

yeah..sadly we just have to do it manually

One thing I have found helpful resizing stuff like this is parenting layers with keyframes or precomps to nulls and making adjustments to the nulls (size, position, etc) It's not perfect and there's still some manual labor involved but this helps cut it down pretty significantly
Is there an option to do something similar in premiere pro? I usually need to export different sized videos for social media, and readjust every text, the scale of videos etc

Yeah, you can make something like this, but using sequences 🤘🏼
There's two general problems with this approach. 1. You'll often end up with a rather boring framing, because everything needs to be center-cut safe. 2. Big pre-comps in AE eat up RAM and render time. Especially when we're talking 4k and beyond or the project contains 3D Renders. But if the client isn't willing to shell out more budget for social media versions, it sure is the way to go.

1. Not if you add all major elements of each scene to the essential graphics panel and adjust their position, rotation and scale in the output comp. Like I did here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eJuLqqdtnrrJhJc.html 2. Multi aspect ratio productions are mostly related to social media, where everything is just 1080p, not 4K. It eats more RAM, but not too much.
Well, there's still more work... we need to bill the client for additional sizes! :)
Well hot dang this is useful.

hah
It's all the same, weather adjust manually or this way. This doesn't reduce the work.
