❤️Thank you very much for teaching how to pronounce"ㄹ". I will keep trying to pronounce it❤ Korean language is being very easy and interesting for me with your lessons .💖So Thank you very much Hailey unnie 💖
Just for fun, I looked in the mirror at how my tongue moves when pronouncing 'r' and 'l'. I tried to combine the movements together and it turns out the same 'ㄹ'.
best tutorial ever, now i understand
This was so helpful 😭 especially the drawings of the tongue position, thank you Hailey!
Hailey, you are literally the best teacher👏 감사합니다🌷

yeah your classes are really easy to understand
Great job Hailey! That was a good explanation of a confusing concept. Your drawings of the person with their tongue are amazing too haha. Have a good day.
Wow! Thank you Hailey. I have been looking for a pronunciation explanation that explains tongue placement in this case for a long time. It is so clear and helpful.
Your ㄹ pronunciation video helped me today. The phonetics seemed interesting to me with the illustration. Thanks miss.🤗💖
Awesome teacher! After all methods of study for about 10 years, I FINALLY understand how to pronounce this letter! Thank You, liked and subscribed!
this is hand down the best and easiest explanation of this sound!
Thank you for the great description. It helps a lot!
Thank you for your excellent videos. You truly have a gift for being the best teacher! 😊
Exactly the explanation I was looking for! Hailey, you are wonderful! I taught music in schools for many years and play saxophone, so I can hear the subtle differences between ‘ㄹ’ ‘R’ and ‘L’ but couldn’t get it correctly. “아리랑” (Arirang) is a song I would teach my classes that was very difficult because ‘ㄹ‘ is translated as ‘r’. Since the American English ‘r’ is similar to ‘ㄱ’ tongue position without the tongue touching the palate, my little singers could not sing this song very accurately. With your detailed explanation, I understand why ‘ㄹ‘ will sound subtly different in this song depending on the other letters around it and where it is in the syllable. Thank you! You are amazing!
You articulated it so well and your guide is easy to follow, thank you so much
Wow! Your explanation is the best and really clear! Thank you
That's a perfect explanation *.* Thank you so so much, I finally understood it! ❤
Thank you Hailey for the lesson today. You are so good with picking out study material that we can actually use. So teachers in Korean don't spend the necessary time on things like how to pronounce z and r. Sorry don't have Hangul on my phone. It's hard for a person just starting out to pronounce those together.
The best explanation ever! Thank you.감사합니다.
This was the most helpful vid! Thank you!
Super helpful! I’ve always been confused how to say the ㄹ sound correctly. 감사합니다 ☺️
You did amazing! 고맙습니다!
I've watched so many tutorials on the ㄹ sound, but this was actually super helpful, I think I can pronounce it much better now!! 고마워요 ❤ Could you also upload a similar video but with the 으 sound?

What helped me was smiling with your teeth together, then make kinda like a disgusted sound so like when you see something funky and your like “uueee” if you know what I mean 😂
This is such a good explanation 😀 Thank you!!!
The best explanation about this sound! Gamsahabnida!
Miss Hailey thank so much for sharing this, it clarifies way more then before. Hopefully, you will do another video for the "M" sound which sometimes sounds like a "b" for me. The drawing helped a lot to understand too. Great job and thank very much Miss Hailey!!!
"I dontknow where to move" is the most accurate description
Thank you for the illustrations and explanations. It is very helpful and easy to understand the correct pronunciation for ㄹnow. It has also helped me to realise that I've been pronouncing it as l and r all the while. Time to change that 😅👍
Perfect! I can make it now! Thanks a lot Hailey!!!!!
안녕하세요 선생님. As always a wonderful class. 고맙습니다🇮🇳♥️💜

Hailey❤️❤️❤️❤️you are the ultimate Korean teacher 🙂💯
That was very informative and extremely helpful. I don't think I'm getting it quite right, but definitely learned a lot about where I was wrong and I'll keep trying!
This is such an amazing video I found your drawings to be especially helpful. I can hear a difference in how I pronounce ㄹ already. Thank you, I will continue to practice and try and get used to keeping my tongue in the middle of my palate ❤

This actually really helpful
Her smile is contagious😍I catch it like the flu , when she smiles at me , I start smiling too☺❤
Good lookin out. This helped a ton.
This shit always confused tf outta me, and it’ll take some practice but this video helped tremendously. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to explain this... I take it this lesson is for leading with ㄹ only? Let's say for example what if I say 물? For this word when I sound ㅜ my tongue is already down, and now I need to follow with ㄹ sound. For this the only direction left is to go is back up (reverse from leading). Finally the other one that is still stumping me is the typical object marker 를. From this lesson I start with 르 just like what you showed us, but then what happens to ㄹ 받침? Does the tongue come back up to palette at this point? Thanks again, I was confused about the leading case.
Thank you so much for your kindness ❤
You are the best teacher of Korean language 🥰 I'M Anam from INDlA 🇮🇳

thank you so much! it really helped c: i'll continue practicing with this

Best teacher ever
Thankyou Hailey for lesson in this video. I am very very like your teaching. I am happy....
Thanks very much teacher and good job & very clear
Thank you it was very helpful💜
감사합니다 🙏 I was searching for this after realized I was pronouncing ㄹ like the Spanish r, and in words like 빨리 was staring to roll the two together like a Spanish "rr"! Seeing the tongue placement was super helpful to correct that.
감사합니다 🥰
선생님 감사합니다
Iam 1year student I am so happy to learn with you
Thank you so much! ❤
Thanks so much!
고마워요 언니❤️ "ㄹ" your video make to learning easy and fun 😊
Thanks a lot, really you are a great teacher. ❤❤❤❤❤ 선생님 감사합니다, 정말 훌륭한 선생님이십니다. ❤❤❤❤❤😊
This is gonna help lots
Thank You so much.
Super 👏👏👏👏
I would say this is literally the best video ever seen in pronouncing ㄹ. I don't think this video could have done any better when pronouncing ㄹ. The only thing, though is that I do wish words ending with ㄹ should've been covered. Many Americans (including myself of course) struggle pronouncing words like 월.
Thank you!!!
This was very helpful, thank you so much!! ❤️ My only suggestion would be to include the sound at the end of a word next time. This video covered the ㄹ sound at the beginning and middle of words, but not the end, as in 말, 재발, or 헐. It was a very good video! I really appreciate how you demonstrated the tongue positions clearly. Could you make a video like this for 으, please?

I had a similar question, and I asked my native speaking friend this... I'll share his answer "so when it's lead, the tongue needs to be rolling down just like the video shows and when you say ㄹ like 물, it rolls up to the celling of the mouth. Hope it makes sense!"

This was super helpful. I still have trouble not rolling my r when saying words with 를.
