TESTIMONIALS
‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
‘You really have to watch every second of the video because Prof, Tom drops these little nuggets of gold throughout the course. And they make ALL the difference. The only one doing this. Keep them coming Professor’ - NY, New York
‘If I could only be taught from one person, Prof Tom would be it. I can’t wait to train in person one day’ - Dallas, TX
‘Went to a recent competition with these videos fresh in my mind. I knew I had an edge and the confidence this gave me was unreal. Got the gold. All submission wins! - LA, California

Tried this today... Why didn't i know earlier, it's really good! Even if i can't escape 100% of the time (i am a woman and much lighter than most my sparring partners), it is the best i have yet found.

Thx for sharing :-) One suggestion to improve your already awesome videos: - it will be all complete when, after having done the explanation parts, you take a few seconds to repeat the move on full speed a few times from different angles without any talking..

@@itsthemuscledad38 upa is the most basic mount escape, AKA the bridge and roll. You block the arm and leg on the same side of the guy who has mount, then bridge and roll. They can't base out to stay on top of because you've blocked their arm and leg on the side you're going to.

Thanks coach for sharing this. Can you offer advice on this type of mount escape if the person on top of you is not upright in posture, instead he is 'sprawled' across you in mount with arms out at 45 degrees out past your head, pressing all his weight down on you...? If you've done another video on this and can direct me to it that'd be great. Do you just rely on knee-to-elbow / shrimp? Wasn't sure if that's the only solution, especially if the guy is really heavy. Thanks again!

Try to turn on your side before he flattens you with weight. After that, work the snag and drag mount escape. Its the tailored solution. (-: Coach Tom Davey

Thanks Felix. If a mounted opponent is punching then simply buck to offbalance his positioning to prevent further strikes. To be honest, being mounted under a puncher is never going to be fun nor easy to escape if at all possible. Ill try to get something filmed! (-: Coach Tom Davey

Haha your wife is onto the defence. To beat this straighten your legs to get rid of the mounted grapevine lockdown then keep your leg flat on the ground between her legs, easy! If she squeezes her knees to prevent this, hit the bridge and roll! (-: Coach Tom Davey

I watch your videos a lot and actually use a lot of your techniques, but when I use this I always get caught with a Kimora when I’m on my side as I try to drag his leg across and when it happens I have to abandon the drag and focus on getting rid of the Kimora which then brings me back to where I started

  • @TheGrapplingAcademy

    @TheGrapplingAcademy

    5 жыл бұрын

An approach I find effective, is to double underhook (tuck your chin hard) and get under that way. Keep working it and try to take advantage of their kimura attempt in some way. I personally give them a hip bump when they attack the kimura which usually puts their hands on the mat (by reflex) and gives me time to secure it underneath the leg for deep half guard or wherever guard I opt to go to. Happy rolling (-: Coach Tom Davey
