The easiest way to defeat strong back pressure

When you have an opponent like 150kg Tyson who has immense back pressure and you don't feel you are able to cup them in the key to controlling them lies in strapping your hand with the objective of staying flat wristed.
When you strap for this connection and totally shelve the idea of bending your wrist, it allows you to pull with all of your upper back and lats while securing the pressure through the base of your palm.
Of course, you must still have sufficient hand strength to prevent your own wrist from being opened up, but you only need enough to keep it flat.
If you waste energy attempting to bend your wrist fully, you will miss the opportunity to use your dragging pressure against your opponents bicep pressure.
At the end of the day, dragging is significantly stronger than rising. Secure your flat hand, and drag your opponent open.

@@Lycan507 there's 2 types of side pressure, side pressure(elbow strength) and side pressure(wrist,arm strength)
Actually just used armwrestling fundamentals together. Fighting one strong mucle by using multiple different mucles. Devon talks about this allot. Using side pressure, dragging lats and pronation all together against only back pressure.

But also, i started training on my own long before i joined a club. Just practice the basics, correctly, safely, and arm wrestle a lot. Do arm wrestling specific exercises, as well. Like Scott/preacher curls, normal bicep curls, side pressure, cupping, back pressure, finger strength.

Back pressure with an insanely strong cup/hand control is pretty hard to counter. Watch Denis cyplencov he does this well

Bro, he is stronger in every position. The best counter to back pressure(if it's stronger than your wrist) is side/down pressure, but you need to have strong elbow to do that.

@@danielmitchell671 exactly Ryan is just pulling someone weaker, not really any skill in that, hes just stronger. I'd like to see him show us how to counter back pressure v Dennis. Dennis will drag his arm right out, then pin it towards himself with insane back pressure and the opponent is vunerable with his arm out so far then Dennis pins them whilst still applying back pressure which he's very very skilled at.

Same, quite often I’ll be in an advantages position and just get blown out by a side pressure surge
Biggest problem here is none of these guys in your shorts know how to arm wrestle......
