For each positive integer \( x \), define the expression: \[ z_x = 2x^2+2x\sqrt{x-1}-2x\sqrt{x+1}+x-\sqrt{x^2-1}.\] Evaluate the sum of the square roots of these expressions from \( x = 1 \) to \( x = 24 \): \[ \sqrt{z_1} + \sqrt{z_2}+ \cdots + \sqrt{z_{24}} .\] If the answer can be expressed as $a\sqrt{b}-c\sqrt{d},$ find $a+b+c+d$. the answer can be derived using telescopic sums and setting this expression has a polynomial in the complex plane.

Isn't it easier and less time consuming to get the difference and then multiplying it by 4 20-15= 5 5x4= 20(which is the correct answer)

i haven’t taken the sat, but i have taken the act. on the act there will be some very easy questions like this then as you go in they get progressively harder

Could have subtracted those to become 5s then substitute 5×4=20

Faster to simplify 20s-15s into 5s, then do 5 X 4 = 20. Fewer steps, smaller numbers, less room for error

clearly the correct answer is to factor out 5s to get 5s(4-3), then substitute 4 for s to get 5s(s-3), then distribute to get 5s²-15s, then find s²=4²=16, then solve: 5(16)-15(4) = 80 - 60 = 20

you can direcly subtract and evaluate 5s

20s-15s=5s 5(4)=20

Bruh just do 20s - 15s = 5s, 5s = 5x4= 20

If s=4 the value of 20s - 15s can be found by substituting s with its given value 20s - 15s = 20x4 - 15x4 Now we preform multiplication 20x4=80 15x4=60 Finally we preform subtraction 80-60=20 Therefore if s=4 the value of 20s- 15s is 20

As someone who just took the digital sat on march 9th, one of the questions that left me dumbfounded that it was that easy was something like if k - x = 7 and x = 13, what is k? I’m not joking, there was a question like that on the sat. And then math module 2 hit hard cause math module 1 was very easy for me so math module 2 was kind of crazy. Started out okay and then got longer and became more complicated and wordy. Maybe they need Grammarly to make less wordier sentences.

You can just do 20s - 15s = 5s And s = 4 So, 5(4) And the answer is 20, which is still the same answer, but found in a much easier way

Couldn’t you subtract the coefficients and then multiply by 4

or (20-15)s=5s=5(4)=20

better take s common from both terms and solve the terms seperatly and multiply their result with value of s. much easier

Just take 's' common and multiply it at last. It will take less than 3 seconds.

You could just do 20-15= 5 5x4=20

easier way: 20s - 15s = 5s 5 x 4 = 20
