    For question 38, there is a separate method as well. You can solve for the Radiuses instead. For the small circle, the radius is 1/2(4x) = 2x Thus, pi(2x)^2 = 72. Solving for x gives you 2.3936. The radius for the larger circle would then be 1/2(5x) = 2.5x. Inputting the x value into the circle formula gives us the same answer of 112.5. You can then subtract the areas to find the area of the shaded region. 112.5-72 = 40.5

    for #19 in my mind if the right angle is split in half then that means its asking for the cos 45 - sin 45 with both equaling sqrt2/2 making the answer zero. I was unaware of that specific rule, but luckily that unit circle is helpful

    it doesn't specify in the question that it is split in half, so it could also be 60 and 30 or 50 and 40. keeping the rule of two sinx=cosy of two angles adding up to 90 is, therefore, a much better approach!

    Hey Vincent! I am really glad to hear that the videos have really helped you out. I will not be able to make that. It would turn into a multi hour video to be able to get close to actually explaining the topics well enough that they can be understood. Summer is my crazy busy tutoring season and I am updating materials for the Digital SAT so I won't have time. I would at the least recommend checking out the free trial to my Ultimate SAT Course as I go over the sentence structure rules and a decent number of the comma rules and you don't need a credit card to sign up. I would also recommend to check out the part of the advanced math course in the free trial as you're at the spot where it can help fine tune those skills even further. If you are really looking to cover everything before August, I would recommend to sign up as you'll get super in depth lessons and hundreds of practice questions for both sections and you should be able to increase your math further! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

    For question 30 on the gym membership, don't you pay before you can actually use the membership? This would mean that before any months of membership or t=0 that you pay the $25 for the first month which would result in answer choice B.

  • @preppros

    @preppros

    10 ай бұрын

    No, if the question stated that you have to pay an initial fee of $25 and then $45 each month B would be correct, but the question makes it clear you will pay $25 the first month. If you plugged in 1 for t in B, it would make it seem as if the first month cost $70. This is the trick to this question and why it is #30 as one of the most challenging questions.

    In question 38 where you were required to find area of the shaded region, you only calculated the area of the bigger circle. Will you please explain as I am really confused.

    Hi, I’d recommend rewatching that question explanation. I did not calculate the smaller circle’s area as it was given but I did subtract it from the larger circle to find the shaded region.

    I eyeballed the first problem you performed (20) and figured b = -14 therefore c would equal 45 then using factoring I could determine the x values very quickly, is this efficient?

    You can definitely plug in values like that! However, it's not the most efficient and consistent way to solve the problem as you have to make sure that the values you plug in work based off the constraints in the question.

    Please does sat usually change unit in questions that the main focus is not about unit change or rate or scale model .If they do does it means I will have to be confirming that unit is not changing in all the maths questions.

  • @preppros

    No, the SAT usually makes it incredibly obvious that you will be changing units by including a conversion in the question.

    Hello, for the circle question, if they had given us the circumference instead of the area, then we would not square the 4/5 right?

  • @preppros

    @preppros

    10 ай бұрын

    No, you still would. The ratio of the radius, diameter and circumference are all directly proportional since c=2(pie)(r). Whereas, the areas you need to square the proportions of the radius, diameter, or circumference since A=(pie)r^2 so the ratio of the radius, diameter or circumference needs to be squared. Hope this makes sense! A bit tricky to explain in a KZread comment but if you plug in some values and work through the scenario it should make sense.

    My Advanced math course is what I use with all of my private tutoring students to help them improve from where you are at to the low to mid 700s but is also what I use with really advanced students starting around 730 to help them improve as close to perfectly as possible. You most likely have a really good grasp on many of the fundamentals and the concepts tested but are getting stuck for how to start the more difficult questions and have a handful of concepts that you don't know quite as well. It will help you learn how to start all of those exceptionally difficult questions, get used to the strategies you should apply for the most difficult questions, and also will give you a really comprehensive review of all of the concepts tested on the SAT, which will let you know if there's certain concepts that you should focus more on outside of the problem set in the Advanced course. The advanced course can be found here: preppros.teachable.com/p/150-hard-math-questions

    11:11 if we let one angle be x and other 90-x then it will be cos x- sin(90-x) = cos x - cos y and u said they are equal (x and y) so cos x=cos y and then our equation will be cos x- cos x = 0.

    Please I want to ask one question, in the Khan academy lesson they said to determine the type of punctuation to use I need to to know if the sentence after the blank and the sentence before the blank is independent or dependent. Now my question is if I want to read the sentence after the blank to determine if it's is dependent or independent will I start from Geological or I will start from Structures anytime i see answer choices such as the period that have a word after it Like geological because sometimes they don't put any word after the punctuation and the continents is it joined with the sentence before the blank A study published by university of rice university offers new explanation for origin of earth __________structures called arcs,towering ridges that form when a dense oceanic plate subduct under a Les dense continental plate,melts in the mantle below ,and then rises and burst through the continental crust above . 1 continent geological 2continents:geological 3continets; geological 4continents.geological

    That's not the greatest advice there. Instead you need to identify what is coming before and after the punctuation itself. In the case you posted, that means you need to be paying attention to the structure of that goes from the beginning of the passage all the way up to continents and from geological through the end
