    Love how easy you make concrete work look. After watching a video I always think I can repeat the process easily, I know better now. We do a lot of concrete work and to watch the little tricks you use and don't keep to yourself. These are so important for people trying to get into different types of concrete work. Thanks so much for the little tips and showing us with the pinholes there are other ways to fix little issues.

    i like that you pay extra for white cement…then buy the dye and mix it to a regular concrete color

    Love it, first job out of the military was working in a precast yard. Fell in love with making architectural concrete. Used experiment with polishing concrete, to putting glass, sand blasting and acid etching. Concrete is so durable . Nice job!

    What is the "slurry" mix to fill in pin holes? Was it water and z from only? Or did it also have the sand topping also?

    Good work. A couple of questions -about your procedures: the video didn't show whether you were using masks or not when mixing the cement powder. Do you use them routinely? Also - didn't see anywhere that the mix had been vibrated after it was poured. Do you do normally vibrate the panels?

    Hey Tim, awesome work as usual! I truly appreciate your willingness to share. I actually had a question about your faux slate overlay (non-spray) video. I live in the northeast and am refinishing my 50 yr old patio. Do you have any product recommendations for the different layers (colored grouts) that are available to consumers? I can’t seem to find Westcoat products for purchase. Thanks in advance for any help!

    Westcoat is sold through concrete stores/resellers. You should be able to call westcoat & they can point you in the right direction in your area. H&C grout is sold through Sherwin Williams which also works pretty well.

    If the finished surface is on the bottom and the melami sheets only go up to 8ft and your countertop is 11ft, what is the best approach to buttoning up the melami so you don’t see a line/joint where the two pieces meet.

  • @TimDCVA

    @TimDCVA

    10 ай бұрын

    Most cabinet shops can order melamine that is longer than 8’. It’s hard to hide the seam if you can’t find a sheet that runs the entire length… unless you are going to grind them after you pour them.

    I made my own 15+ years ago and they still look great. I p periodically oil them(mineral oil) and then wax them with a pure carnuba wax. Down side don’t drop anything fragile on them, broken many a glass.

    I agree with this comment. Soupy concrete will work and its easy to work with, but its not as strong. A drier mix, properly vibrated, is better.

    This is not driveway mix. This is highly a engendered cement based product. Not exactly concrete in the sense your thinking. And yes if this were regular stuff going into a driveway it would be worthless.
