Mark, This was an awesome video. I watch a lot of these to get ideas and tips and most times I’m disgusted with the presenters because its clear they are clueless and just guessing (trial and error) when demonstrating their projects. It was very clear from the first 60 seconds that you Sir are truly a master craftsmen and apply math and logic to your projects. As an Engineer myself I was “Glued” to your video. I will make contact when I decide to attempt this one. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with everyone. -Tim

This type of concrete work has come a long way in the 20+ years since I quit doing it. Watching the wet pour, I was thinking maybe you need one of the very old school jitterbug tampers...

Well done. Have you ever substituted raised grade board form lumber for the MDF when moulding your rubber form? I love the concrete but I'm sure a wood grain finish would be another great option.

How far can I have GFRC extend, unsupported? Thinking of a J shaped coffee table, with the little portion as the base (with a wood piece) and the long portion floating 6 inches above that wood.
Thank for sharing this video. There are both uhpc and gfrc in the title. which one do you mean? I think they differ in case of mix design.
@TrinicLLC
3 жыл бұрын
UHPC refers to (according to ACI) strengths above 17,500 psi. GFRC can be any glass fiber reinforced concrete so it can actually be both.
Depending on were he wants the engredients when finished trowling a bolt on vibrator for the table may help in some cases, ps his vids are addictive
That type of table is also called a WATERFALL table, counter, or island.

We sell world wide and the TEC-10 admix is a single component admix that does the job of polymer, defoamer, shrinkage reducer, wetting agent. We have lots of other powdered admixes as well. More info can be found at www.Trinic.us
I've seen similar projects on here, but without all of the add-in's. How necessary is the precise recipe? It seems the other channels had fairly good results using a muuuch simpler mixture. (To be fair, I have zero knowledge on how many actually remain standing haha) Also, can polyester fibers be used in place of glass fibers? Just curious if they are at all comparable. Thank you for this amazing video!
@TrinicLLC
3 жыл бұрын
Most other channels don’t go into the detail because they sell a premix and don’t want you to know what is in the mix so they keep it basic. We sell premixes as well but are open to share our decades of experience. Poly fibers keep concrete coming apart after it cracks. The GFRC uses glass fiber or PVA to prevent cracking

Wondering why you didn’t screed the back?
@jayelwin
3 жыл бұрын
I think the glass fibers cause screeding to drag the concrete and ruin it.
Do you sell the material to make the mold? And, will the mold hold up to a 4" pour? If so, you may have just upped my profitability on my most popular item by a significant amount. Also, whats time zone are you in? I'm in HI, and Guam. Don't want to call you in the middle of the night.
@TrinicLLC
3 жыл бұрын
We do sell the polyurethane rubber to make the mold. That only needs to be about 1/2”-3/4 thick and will last for close to 1,000 casts if you are careful with it. The support for the mold you would need to make stronger to take the weight of 4”. Also why so thick when you can use GFRC and do it at 1” and make it look like it is 4”?
@bennettjones9696
3 жыл бұрын
It's the center support for a 24"×48" outdoor coffee table, in the shape of a university mascot, thats small on bottom, and wide on top. I do oval and rectangular tops and bottoms. Top thickness is 2" with wire mesh reinforcement. Bottom, which is 18"×36", is 2.5" thick, reinforced with wire mesh. Think of a bull head with Horns. My goal is to lighten it up. I tried a pink foam board center, with 1" cast all around, which made it light, but didn't pass a strength test. All 3 I made in testing failed. I'm currently using pink foam board for my molds, which are 1 time use.
