For God to entrust Joseph to be the Earthly, stepfather of Jesus...simply amazing and wonderful. One can only imagine... As the Earthly father, having the knowledge of who's Father the boy's true Father is! And more mind numbing still... Having the knowledge that this boy whom you are raising is THE Son of God...the Logos...the one Who created ALL things...including Joseph! Try to imagine being Joseph and wrapping your head around that! That TRULY blows the mind!!!

Jesus' exile to Egypt was later. Maybe one or two years old. And the visiting of Magys did not happen on Jesus' birth. But, later in Jesus' toddler ages, I guess. Harot later killed babies in the area toddlers and under.

I thought that "synoptic" was referring to the fact that they see things largely the same way, while John has a completely different story. ??

Matthew,Mark,Luke are synoptics but John's Gospel is written from a different perspective because he was writing to the gentiles not the Jews like the first three. But to also answer your question about the authenticity of John's Gospel is that it also leads to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So the story is the same because the theology does not contradict.

Mormons have a similar story. Stories that come after and change the original story aren't to be relied upon.

Jesus' works were recorded by his disciples and past down. The universe got here some how and it was from a literal explosion from nothing. To believe in the commonly accepted theory of the genesis of our universe takes a bigger leap of faith than believing that an intellectual designer made it. And that being said if there is an intelligent creator would he not be able to keep his word on this earth for us despite our rebellion? You are not talking about fairy tales here you are talking about the word that formed your very body and mind. The word that makes your very existence possible in the first place. Search for God so that you can repent of this my friend
