The Dysfunctional World of Sex Inside Jehovah's Witnesses

The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses invite themselves into your bedroom by instructing grown, consenting adults how they can touch each other. Their teachings on sex range from hilarious, to soul crushing, by claiming an ancient book filled with sexual depravity should be our guide when our clothes come off. Touching yourself is off limits, even demonized. Listen in as we look at their love for missionary... not the kind with the book carts.

And another thing that, got me really sad and angry was I think this Sunday at a convention they hade “gods morality” bullshit on bisexual stuff, saying it’s not aligned with god moral standards! I was angry so angry I hade to walk around for that whole talk! God I wanted to rip the speakers head off! What this cult teaches is disrespectful and disgusting! Be little you to the ninth degree! I was told in the early 70's by yesterday Brother who studied with me there is no CSA in Jehovah's Society, Congregations, because Jehovahs Holy Spirit will not allow it! 🤫 Some years later he was arrested for physical child abuse, released after a few weeks, and removed as an Elder. His 16 year old daughter was removed and put into Foster care, 30 years later he was finally made a servant, and now serves as an Elder again at the age of 75. The daughter suffers from severe depression because if sexual abuse! By whom? Only she knows! And I'm sure this now Elder again, knows as well. Who will tell now that all physical records are shredded! Elders seem to love sex not only with their wives, but their daughter's.😮

I was led to believe the same thing. If memory serves me they went so far as to boast about their superiority in publications. One time in the 80’s I was on jury duty and got picked for a case of a priest abusing kids. The Catholic Church settled before we went to trial. I recall parroting the WT superiority fantasy when that happened. Turns out that I was drawn into the “we’re not sinners like other religions” fantasy during that time. That experience combined with their own abuse problems coming out years later was one of the eye openers for me.

This is one of the most, if not THE most important episodes you've ever done. Sexuality is like any other natural part of us -- as long as it is working like it's supposed to, it's just a part of life; nothing more. But if something is wrong, something is broken, that ache becomes HUGE. It is difficult to concentrate on your work if you leg is broken and un-attended. It's the same way with sexuality. I'm a born-in. I was one of the obedient ones. The guilt over thoughts and desires and eventual "self-help" was excruciating. I'm about to start my 5th decade on Earth. After a fairly complicated and drawn-out exit from the faith, it was only in 2021 that I realized it's a cult, and the EXTENT to which it had damaged me. It wasn't my fault that I was, and still remain, dysfunctional. THAT was liberating to learn. I'd been severely damaged by the so-called "healthy view on sexuality." THAT was sickening to learn. But. Now I understand why I am as I am. Now I can heal.

It broke my heart at tears from folks wanting direction and forgiveness only to be laughed at when Elders confered in private. They'd compare themselves to the sin and feel better about themselves before inviting the sheep back into the meeting and only to be disfellowshiped. It broke my heart.

Elders are a living example proving The Milgram experiment as valid. A friend of mine had a daughter that was DFd. He was told by one of the Elders on the JC they had no doubt she was sincerely repentant, but they DFd her anyway "just to teach her lesson". I often wondered what, exactly, that lesson was supposed to be? Regardless, it shows the mentality of many/most of these Elders. JCs are a way to project and to unload their angst on unsuspecting victims while feeding their ego-driven god complex. I'm sure in a different era these same Elders would have gladly assisted Mengele while viewing themselves as loving shepherds.

We talked about the recent three part documentary exposing the Witnesses in the Netherlands. Suddenly she told me: "JW weddings were and are the worst". I didn't understand. I remember going to the KH with my wicked witness family members when I was a teenager, 16 to be exact. I had a major crush on a baptised witness , I believe he was about 18 or 19. Anyway, I remember thinking he was going to be the perfect guy to date because he was a witness and I wouldn't have to deal with peer pressure, sex talk, kissing, etc. We finally exchanged numbers and our very first conversation he asked me what was my bra size and if I got super hor-ne-y when I got my period 😯 I was so incredibly shocked and disappointed. He kept talking about how big my butt was and asking what my sexual fantasies were. I was completely thrown off because he was so humble and active in the KH. He commented every sunday, went on field service and book studies. I stopped talking to him and that was a stark reminder that no matter what, people will be people. They can be who ever you want them to be to deceive you, but they'll eventually show you who they really are, just pay attention. Oh, and I stopped thinking witness men were saints....

    ### Jehovah's Witnesses and Sex: A Humorous Ode In the land of Kingdom Halls, where Watchtowers abound, There's a subject so taboo, it scarcely makes a sound. But if you listen closely, you might hear a quiet "Oh, It's the tale of sex and Witnesses, a story quite the show. In a world where rules are plenty, and fun is often thin, There's a list of dos and don'ts, to save you from your sin. "Don't touch, don't look, don't even think," the elders sternly say, But oh, the things that happen when you tuck those thoughts away! Young Johnny reads the Bible, with its tales both bold and grand, Yet somehow skips the lessons on just how to use his hand. He's told that simple self-love might lead to something gay, So he spends his nights in prayer, to keep those thoughts at bay. Sweet Sally, in her innocence, gets lessons from her mom, "Don't think of boys, they're dangerous!" and to the field they plod. But Sally's heart is racing when she sees young Brother Jim, And she wonders, "Is it so bad if I simply dream of him?" The elders preach from platforms, with grim and furrowed brows, They warn of dire consequences for breaking sacred vows. But when the lights are dimmed and the meetings all adjourn, Their minds might wander freely to the lessons they should learn. For in the Book of Bible Stories, with angels from the skies, There’s quite a bit of loving that goes on behind the lies. From Samson with his muscles to Abraham’s grand swap, You’d think that holy scriptures were one big sexy romp! Married couples whisper, with secrets in the night, “Should we ask the elders if this feels just right?” But fear not, dear Witnesses, for in your loving bed, The Governing Body’s far away, not hanging by a thread. So Stacy, here’s a chuckle, for your podcast so astute, A humorous reflection on teachings quite minute. For though the rules are many, and sometimes quite absurd, We’ll laugh at the hypocrisy, and spread the merry word. In the end, just remember, as you navigate your life, Love and joy should guide you, not guilt or endless strife. So let’s toast to freedom, to laughter, and to cheer, And maybe just a little bit of sexiness right here!

in the early 70s I was just married, I did not get the point when they came out with these restrictions about oral sex. Their reasoning applying Romans 1 :27 to married heterosexual couples was illogical for me. As for me, I was sure this condemnation doesn t come from J. But it was a burden in my fresh marriage. How could I be sure about my wife? could I trust her? At the same time I was appointed as a (too young) elder. It was so uncomfortable, I hated it, when brothers or sisters came for guidance about it. As an elder you havent got any freedom of speaking out. I could write books about all these painful situations you get as a sincerely believing young elder whose answers are strictly controlled.

Interesting I’m only seven minutes into your program and I already noticed some of your JW programming still in your head where they distinguish intercourse and sex as if the two were the same thing, Where•as there really is a difference between sex, and the actual act of intercourse, which may or may not produce offspring, and when I say intercourse, I’m referring member insertion and release of that stuff that makes babies. The reason I put it this way is because I’m afraid if I say any graphic parts, I’ll be censored. sex on the other hand is something God gifted mankind with that usually ends up with copulation and reproduction, however, sex alone does not necessarily end up in that way. Sex is an art form to a large degree, and intercourse is just a blatant and blunt act that can actually result in children. The only acts that God forbid basically in scripture and outlawed were same-sex, and hanky-panky with our furry animal friends, temple prostitution, and a slap on the wrist for self indulgence. Something GB call self abuse. They’re all supposed to be forms of unnatural perversions, which I have to say I pretty much agree with except for the self indulgence part. I could really get into this deeper as we all know. There are different ways to pleasure our partners or mates, and none of those things are mentioned in the Bible as outlawed or perverse when dealing with the oral persuasion. The GB until somewhat recently demanded complete abstinence and used the Bible as they put it as their authority, I might add with no honest support from scripture whatsoever, they interpreted that the way they wanted to, and demanded that the rest of us do the same or we would experience the fire of Armageddon firsthand. They have since remain silent on such oral delights and no longer pressure adherence in this regard, however, if it became known that certain members were practicing decadence I can guarantee they probably would never receive any privileges or promotions to what they call advance in their “spiritual maturity”.
